These Gyms are different from what I have found in the past. Smoothe top..no scales. When I sliced them to dry they turned greenish blue..never seen that I have had Gyms that were “meh” from the same spot where I got these and others that were super active. Made tea from 20 g dried and went to the moon. Made the same amount another time  from same and only slight buzz.

I've walked a few river trails on the Tennessee River banks for ovoids and checked a few soccer fields in the spring for cinctulus to no avail. About a year ago walking through the woods, I found the fence to a horse farm. A highly populated horse farm with lots of people. I found a few cinctulus but was way too sketched out and scared of going back to jail so I never went back. I know a few spots that are secluded down in GA but they're about a 3 hour drive so that's not happening because how do I explain to the wife where I was for 6 hours.
So nah not much hunting. Just building houses for twelve hours a day and sleeping most of the time.

That one with the decurrent gills (gills going down the stipe) aren’t Gymnopilus, they’re Phylloporus rhodoxanthus. Gym gills don’t do that

Ah I gotcha. You're not even in the old GA anymore. I also have to tell the wife something whenever I do go hunt. Even if it is for gourmet. Luckily, I just say ," Hey I have to go quote this lawn or job."
That usually works. She just thinks I spend too much time looking. Some times I can tell her straight up I am going to look and she is cool but I like to go more often. I don't have to go far to hunt however. My gymns grow at my dads property. I lost my weillii spot to the subdivision putting up a gate. Its funny how my own father told me about weilii for the first time. I have been hooked ever since.

I was doing farm chores today and saw these growing where my goats hang out. I was very busy all day but managed to spore print.

Panaeolus cinctulus or olivaceus according to Doc9151.

Looks like my goats are good for something after all! Just kidding, they're good for lots of things but this is a surprise bonus. Guess I'll be hunting the paddock for more!

Nice find! Here’s to more where that came from, KawiCorn. It could be a wet year.

I’m very surprised we dont see more Panaeolus on this thread, or the ones from past years. They are claimed to be abundant but maybe not many people look for them? They intrigue me though, I want to find some now.

Found these this evening. I can just collect them and preserve at my leisure. I've never tried them before. I heard they're not as potent but that you need more. I've also heard to not underestimate them either.

The one on the left is matching up with the panaeolus I found yesterday. Jet black spore print. The smaller ones on the right look whiter and I did not harvest them. They seem young. You asking the question has me second guessing myself. I got less than 4 hours sleep last night. LoL

I was only asking because I'm a out 99% certain the ones in question are panaeolus antillarum and not cinctulus.
