You where right. The side of that highway with the mulch is chock full of gymns. There were many patches near an exit. Im sure they are rotten now but I could still see them this afternoon.

Hello shroomers I have recently just come back after hiatus from my adventures after having a wonderful experience that got my interest in the subject booming. I know this isn't a picture of my finds, but I wanted to say my hiatus is over and I am looking to learn! I have recently went out about three times to see what I could find with my limited knowledge to no avail which gave me the idea to ask you guys for help I wanted to know if people have gatherings in which they help newbs like myself learn what to look for and the best way of coming about it. Me (and my girlfriend) reside around paulding county, GA and would like to accompany a group or individual willing to include us in their findings. Not asking to give us any, but rather to show us the ropes. I've been on this site for years but never decided to make an account until now with my renewed interest. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this subject, I am new to posting on here as I stated before >.<

lookintolearn, you should go back through the message boards of past. Search for “official georgia” or “georgia weilii”. We are kind of in the off season right now but if you live in paulding you should read up on p. Ovoidiocystidiata that grows in spring, p. caerulescens (weilii) that grows in fall, and p. cubensis which grows in cow fields honestly probably all year if there’s rain. This is a fun hobby but it does take time and commitment, and a substantial amount of research. Dont be surprised or discouraged if you dont find anything right away.
Although they are saying its gonna be an active hurricane season and I think you all know what that means. And the way this year has been going I wouldn’t be surprised if every state gets hit with a cat 6 storm. Fucking 2020, man

I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a little excited to see this year's hurricane activity would be high. I'm ashamed of myself

I always get excited for hurricanes and severe thunder storms.

Thanks for the replies guys and gals I just started my adventure so really anything edible to get started, I went on a hike with my girlfriend and found a variety of interesting ones but the only edible one I found was turkey tail (identified by one of the great people on here) But of course eventually I want to get into finding the psychedelic variety. I just recently got my first field guide in today and i've been reading up on it before work while I have time. It's called Mushrooms of the Southeast by Todd F. Elliot and it seems to be perfect for my area I also purchased Paul Stammets Psylocibin Mushrooms of the World but haven't got that one yet. This week is going to be raining quite a bit so hopefully after it stops i'll have some good pictures to post after another hike. I did look through the rules a bit after reading what you said, posted by Gumby (however he did mention something about a gathering forum post after being active on here 60 days? or am I mistaken?) I just want to have some in person guide that could help me learn me as I do like reading however the spoken word is a much better medium to help me learn. I am going to try to find some weilii eventually once I get a better grip on the area I'm in, the only place I have really tried so far was the silver comet trail (60 mile trail with hardwood forest around) and was fairly successful considering my little knowledge.

Thank you for the recommendations conduit I do plan to look for Cubensis eventually once I scout out a good field, for some reason or another there are very few near here but I went to the Lake Lanier area for a "trip" with my girlfriend and did notice a bunch of fields over in that area. Just a little hour and half drive but hey i'm sure it'd be worth it if the fields are plentiful
