Oh well yeah I agree with that. I'm out everyday with my pup anyway and love it, just wondering if maybe I should do more walking and less crawling around at this point haha

Wait til ol’ ghostly, bloodycarcass, or humblehunt to post then go look haha. It never hurts to look though for any sort of fungi. You never know when the weilii will find you.

I found some of those when I first started and chucked em, kicking myself. Pretty mushrooms. Raspberry gyms.

Pretty lutes, my favorite Gymnopilus.

Edit: I hate autocorrect!!! It changed lutes to glutes.

I looked for about 4 hours for gyms yesterday and came up empty handed. The hunt continues.

At risk of sounding like a stupid question do u guys ever find gyms out in the woods? I've found 3 diff kinds but its always in mulch piles or mulch paths.

I question whether I'd bother harvesting hymns again. Takes so many and seems hard to know what would be a good dose. But they sure are pretty!

Doesnt take a lot for these.  These are more potent than junonius.

I found 2 small mature ones once they were tremendous. main body was yellow. Cap was textured had purple , stipe had red stripes if i recall was like pack of lifesavers in mushroom form. Beauties.

Ok I'm somewhat confused by that. In the summer I found gymnopilus luteofolius in abundance. I was told that these were very weak. So I made a tea with over a hundred grams fresh.

I didn't feel a whole lot from the first portion of it. I drank the rest and didn't do anything more.

The smaller specimens are what you want with these not the larger matured ones.
But wild mushrooms will range in potency from mushroom to mushroom, nutrients growing conditions etc.. I know the ones im finding are fairly potent. I dont eat the large ones though. I leave them todrop  spores. And take the ones that have just opened their veils and gills are still yellow not riddled in spores.

I ground about 15 dry grams up of gyms, simmered in a cup or so of water, then strained and added that to some ginger tea. It was about like a gram of cubensis to me.

The tea was potable as well. Definitely had an earthy dirt flavor but wasn't bad at all.

Are you actually eating these guys bloody? I couldn't bring myself to swallow more than a gram of em hahah

I also have never experimented with making tea from fresh mushrooms...something inside me feels like it would be less likely to extract from them wet...idfk

Yeah, I normally always eat them straight up.  They are bitter, but I find the taste is part of the expierence. I prefer these dried than fresh, a lot less to stomach if theyre half the size.
