Sorry for being off topic but I was wondering if any of you harvest any of the edible plants/herbs when out finding actives?

Have been looking more into the creeping charlie and garlic mustard and lo and behold they're edible. I guess the Charles makes a decent tea and can be eaten in salads and what not too!

Creeping Charlie is invasive as fuck. Take a handful to your yard and throw it in a corner somewhere and see what happens. If you hit it with your lawnmower it's over lol. I have tasted it and it's not terrible, but I wouldn't eat it. My goats even skip over it. Fun fact though is in ancient beer history, it was used instead of hops. It does have a pleasant smell.

You're better off harvesting chick weed. Had a chick weed salad the other night actually with a venison steak and morels. All stuff I've harvested.

There's plenty to eat out there if you know what to look for.

Try eating the tender new growth tips off of greenbriar sometime.

Ah I need to get out and look for some magic shrooms. I’ve been too caught up in work to designate time to go look in the woods. I am like the king of finding gourmet mushrooms but magic? They hide from me!

I snack on those just about every time I'm out hunting or taking care of the chickens and rabbits. Some has a very slight lemony undertone that makes it even more choice.

For real. You tell people to stay inside and suddenly they all crave to enjoy the great outdoors
If you get hungry when you are out there these guys are a great source of protein

Im glad theres not people in my hunting areas.  I dont even think ive even tried hunting parks.  Ive always liked pastures with main feeder creeks with plenty of different habitats, and elevation changes.  Or friends and family I know let me look on their properties too.  So Im normally secluded anyways.

Yea I always have to go to parks then go off into the woods on Corp land. I am going to check some spots today but it is probably too dry. I wish they where legal so we could go hunting together and wouldn’t have to stress about it. I would love to go hunting with like bloody or ghosty. I would pay to do it honestly.

it's not illegal to pay someone to take you mushroom hunting, it's a legit business for plenty of people. He didn't say anything about actives or anything like that.

No it's not, but this thread is about actives and it could easily be misconstrued as illegal activity, maybe I'm overreacting to an innocent conversation. It just struck me wrong, guess it's that time :jah:
