Transferring coir spawn

I’m gonna document my shoebox grow for all to advise or laugh at... depending on how it goes.
My first step will be to crumble some BRF jars I currently have in the fridge, and mix them with coir. I know this will probably prolong the grow... but the intention is to maximise the yield. Most ratios of spawn be-it grains or brf crumble (sounds like a psychedelic desert that needs custard) are either 1:1 or 1:1.5; my shoe boxes are bigger than 80qrts (I’m in the UK, and quarts is a badly spelled crystalline mineral, hence getting a bigger box.... baffled human here).
I have three jars (approx 300ml each) of BRF spawn to crumble, totalling 900ml
1. Will it matter that the combo of spawn and coir will be shallow due to the slightly bigger Surface area of the shoe box. 2. Can I add more coir to the mix... ratio ending up 1:1.9 or 1:2 3. If I stick to the 1:1 or 1:1.5 ratio, is it worth crumbling the coir and adding it to further coir to more shoe boxes (I have three in total)

1) I routinely have shoeboxes that are only 3-4 cm thick. 2) Yessir. In fact, a 2:1 (coir:spawn) produces bigger fruits than a 1:1, though it takes longer to colonize. 3) Not sure what you mean here. You shouldn’t have to crumble the coir at all. Once you soak it, it should be like a loose potting soil, granular and fine.
Did you mean the cakes? Yes, you can crumble and mix the cakes, we do it all the time with jars of grain, but be aware that any contams you might have will spread to another shoebox that way.

What I mean is crumbling the coir, once the mycelium has fully populated it; the same way one would crumble a BRF cake and add coir. I envisage crumbling the mycelium populated coir, as if it were a giant BRF spawn cake. Obviously this would prolong the wait for fruit, but the idea is to maximise the grow... “invest to accumulate”.
I would divide it by three and distribute the 2/3 to two separate shoe boxes I have (1/3 in each) adding more coir (maybe adding some hydrated poo pellets to the mix too, as I have a box of the stuff)

There is increased risk associated with using cakes with coir. This is due to the cakes being inoculated with spores which are more dirty than agar.

Yes I’m aware of this... I have yet to use agar... I’ve been a bit apprehensive... not sure why.

Well good luck when you take the plunge.
Agar takes alot of the guesswork out of the equation

Surely that’s a typo. 80 quarts is a large monotub, not a shoebox. A quart is a little less than a liter btw...
I would not ever use coir as spawn. This wouldn’t improve your yield much either.
1:2 is tried and true IF you have clean spawn. Considering that you have pf cakes started from MS, we don’t know how clean your spawn is. If you want to maximize your chances of success, use 1:1. That said, you will likely be ok with 1:2.
