What do you guys do with your jars that are 95% colonized but likely slightly bacterial?

We all have those jars. They almost finish but then then don't. You could spawn it and pray, maybe you bury it outside, maybe you trash it?

SO... what do you guys do with your almost-good spawn?

Edit: spelling

I wouldnt spawn any jars with uncolonized grains, that's asking for much worse then bacteria in a week or so.

I'd top fruit or wait awhile long to see if they do colonize and then spawn them to a tub or shoebox...

I did a super bacterial batch of 4 qts in a mono and still got a couple ounces

Shoeboxes for sure. I’ve run a bunch of slightly sketchy wbs quarts with no problems. If the top part of the spawn won’t colonize I just dump them out and spawn the rest, usually it’s only like 1/4 inch layer of seeds on top that won’t colonize.

Top fruit would be safest but personally I’d rather go for the bigger flush and take my chances.

If you do go shoeboxes only do a one to one spawn coir ratio. Gotta get that thing locked up ASAP before contams get a chance.

With BRF, I drop the temp to around 63F and sometimes the myc will overtake the bacteria...but it will take a long time.

Post pics, I just shake and check for recovery then spawn
