New to cultivating, Overwhelmed on where to begin

Hello all,
Long time member but I've recently had an idea come to mind. As of lately I've been much more interested in the healing potential for psychedelics.
I'm interested in cultivation but wouldn't know where to begin.
I'm currently slowly reading through these threads https://www.shroomery.org/13864/General-Cultivation, Is there anywhere else I should begin first or are there any suggestions on what to read after I'm done?
Best tek's ect.

Hey Gauss,
Thats where I started reading at first too, back in 2013. Took me a while to figure it out... but most of that stuff is very outdated. For more relevant info, its best to just go crawling through mush cult threads with the search function. Just be sure to pay attention to the date on posts, stick to newer info; https://www.shroomery.org/forums/search.php
Heres a great list of solid teks; https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=24297804&page=0&vc=1#24297804 All of them work, just depends what you're going for.

Read Bod's and others Teks
if you put in the learning at the beginning you'll get success from the beginning. A lot of people think they can skip the proven methods, and it never works out. I'd learn/do Agar(petris or Pasty plates), Still Air Box work, Grain jars, and shoeboxes. Thats the easiest path that will give you success growing. Good Luck!

So much info to dig through.
I’d go with wbs grainspawn TEKs and shoebox TEKs.
That’s where I started after tons of reading through everything and it went very well, and was much easier than I thought. Nothing is particularly difficult there’s just a lot.

I started with brf cakes (and am still currently doing them because I have a lot of fun with them). I literally started by opening PF TEK, and making a grocery list of everything I need to buy for it. I went out and bought everything without even fully understanding the TEK but I figured if I get everything it'll force me into doing it instead of saying "nah seems to hard". It was so easy i couldn't believe it. I'm finishing my last cakes now and will be moving on to agar soon (although I'll probably to continue cakes as well because I love them and I want to master them )
Best of luck on your journey! Once you start you'll fall in love

Yeah. Bod's stuff is spot on, and he's very helpful and available.
If I could start over from the beginning... I would learn agar work in a SAB. Its really fun and fast and critical to success.
Then I would follow a highly advised, recent tek of whatever you want to do. AND DO NOT BE CREATIVE AND INGENUITIVE... just follow the damn tek.

Yeah when I started the top priority was mushrooms asap. Syringe to seed to shoebox was the quickest I determined then once I had a supply on hand learned how to do it the best way lol.
I think agar is more fun than anything else some days now.
