Naw totally possible. Bacteria just weakens the mycelium’s defenses, so there’s more of a chance of mold. I’ve had bacterial tubs go 3-4 flushes, though most I toss after 1.

Well I’m going to refrain from pessimism.

So in a way, if I was in a rush for them to grow, sneezing on them would speed up the process. 😳🤦🏻♂️🙄

Haha you got the right idea.
But srsly, idk about sneezing, since it probably came from your spawn, especially since you spawned to coir. Plus yields suffer.
An intentional bacterial infection to speed up growth in a pinch could be an interesting idea though.

Thanks for the info. I thought that the yellow was metabolites (“myco piss“, even though it isn’t piss) Give me a box co-ordinate based on the pic below, for me to identify, as I am unaware. Cheers

That weird grid thing with all the boxes and numbers is hilarious, I burst out laughing at that, it is a good idea though.

Yeah... I’m such a nerd.
Please it made you chuckle, after I posted it I thought you would think I was being annoying.
It’s via an app called copyit, I use it for gridding images that I want to draw and copy.

Here are some more pics though (close ups)

A lot of times you can tell there’s something wrong when the myc grows the big thick fingers like in the top of the second to last picture.
Usually if it’s metabolites it’s a much darker yellow and will be beads of liquid on the surface like water does when you mist.

Basically I’ve got to literally “clean” up my act. What a dirty bastard! I think I know when it happened... I freaked out when I misted tooo much and (impulsively) thought (and acted due to ADHD) that I could sprinkle dry coir that I had previously hydrated to soak up the water; like putting sawdust on puke 🤣 (bellend). It was bagged and probably got some bacteria from being left out to dry and then put in a dehydrator. I have now read that a clean paper towel would have done the job better.
Anyway... the best way of learning is usually from mistakes.

According to the shoebox tek tutorials you don’t get side pins. So I’m sure I’m an exception to the rule due to either I stressed the mycelium out or because I am an exception to the rule. 🙄 So these guys will be fun.... Any advice on how to eventually harvest these guys?

Also I’ve read people flip the Substrate (what do you call it: substrate/cake/mycelial mass?) When dealing with their fuck ups. Would that be a something worth attempting after I have harvested all the fruits, prior to attempting a second flush?
KEY: white = original shoebox Green = substrate/cake Red = foil/bin liner (maybe both, foil can reinforce the bag, in the whole process) Blue = other box
I have an idea of how I would do it. I would use some foil/bin liner about 4cm wider then the “cake”, push it down on to it with the 4cm extra pressed against the sides like so...
I would then place another box slightly smaller inside to hold it in while I flip it, but use the smaller box to hold/balance the foil and “cake/substrate”, so I can remove the shoebox, like so...
I will then flip everything (not gonna draw that using my iphone). Once the shoebox is removed, I would then fold the foil upwards around the sides, like so...
Then put it back in the the original shoebox...

When it’s time for a second flush, clearly I don’t dunk like a a BRF cake... so do I just spray?
I’m sure someone is gonna say “your over thinking this man!!!”
I will say in advance “Welcome to my world!!”
Some more pics for you entertainment or further bemusement...

I love these as they remind me of Antony Gormley's artwork “Field”

In my experience the side pins are from over-misting and not letting it evaporate enough in between or starting the main substrate/poop too high above field capacity.
Basically for the Myc the side of the substrate moisture is reading like perfect surface conditions which is what we try to avoid. That matting of the mycelium we were seeing before might be due to water pooling instead of small beads of mist.
Yellow is normal but just not the peak/best of conditions. Looks like you have some nice pins. Doesn't look bacterial to me like other people are saying.. And in some situations have seen the myc piss go away once you get conditions optimized.
You are always going to have exposure to bad contams but it's our job to also make a great environment where the myc can strike back and also contain healthy bacteria.

It looks like they’re not quite side pins, but more like they’re pinning where the original sub was before you added more.
Either way it’s looking pretty good right now.

What about the fruit I have, they have grown sporadically and varied in size. Bods guide is is there is more of an even grow.

Man they grow quick.... I’ve had to cut some off, Im sure I’ll be told off.

I wanted to get as many spore printS as possible and I have managed to make a spore print already for my agar learning .

Thanks for the tips and comments... learned a lot and I will no doubt learn more again.
I really enjoyed the useful feedback so far...
