Would you consider this tub 80% colonized and ready to put into fruiting?
    #26431055 - 01/13/20 11:01 AM (4 years, 16 days ago)

Using this tek: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22337800

Title says it all, he says to put into fruiting conditions at 80%, but I am not sure when that is.

Quote from the TEK:
Quote:

I now make no distinction between colonization conditions and fruiting conditions. I just chose to call it
Growing Conditions
My tubs do not dry out being in "fruiting conditions" during "colonization"
My yields have stayed the same. My time to full colonization has decreased as has the time to pinning and harvest.
I have always had exposed top grains, doing "fruiting conditions" immediately has not caused an issue even with exposed grains.

It’s ready, I’d call that 100%.

Like the other guy said though most of us go straight to fruiting now.

It looks good too hopefully you get a nice pin set.

This is my first tub and some of the photos had more white showing in the topsoil. I got three other tubs all in different stages, I will go ahead and put them all into fruiting. Thank you.

Thank you for this, I must have forgotten about that part. Somewhere he mentions 80%. I will go ahead and put the rest of my tubs in fruiting conditions aswell.

How do you guys make sure humidity is good in the tubs? Do you need a certain room humidity? I am coming from the old BRF cake method where I could just check in.

keep an eye on surface conditions.  Using the un-mod tub you shouldn't get a lot of evaporation.  Are you keeping the lid latched or are there any gaps around it for FAE?

Don’t worry about humidity just make sure the surface doesn’t dry out. Or better yet throw a casing on them, now would be the time.

What are you running? Looks like an unmodded tub.

I’ve only done shoeboxes and I have rh below 20%, so I put a casing or top layer of coir on and just leave the lid closed the whole time. No misting usually until the second flush if the coir is prepped right.

Yeah just doing an unmodified tub, he mentions in that post that he doesn't do a casing layer.

Is little puddles of water in a few spots too much? They are no more than a centimeter thick. I am keeping the lid upside down, it provides a lot of holes for air to come in and out.

Little pools shouldn’t be a problem as long as they evaporate and don’t sit for long periods of time.

Thanks man that’s the best grow I’ve done.  I just pulled the second flush, looks nothing like the first

What do you have growing in this tub?

I was a little low on cash and didn't have much knowledge of cheaper alternatives at the time so I ordered two random spore syringes from [REDACTED]. Two of my tubs are Puerto Rican and the other two are Costa Rican. I will post in this thread when I get the first flush.

Oh nice. That’s where I got my first syringes too, they seem to be extraordinarily clean.

I don’t have either of those types if you’d be interested in trading prints later.

Welcome!

Only thing to add is that posting vendor names is against the rules. Edit that noise out before a mod gets here😉

Yeah they were very clean, compared to my new spores. I lost most of my new inoculation due to a couple of the syringes having contams. I could tell because it was only that strain lol. I would be more than willing to trade for that PE or anything else that you have
