"The first step to solving a problem is acknowledging that there is one"
With that being said, our entire existence is just a sneeze when you compare it to the earth, let alone the universe.
I believe the only way to truly be informed is to get information from as many places as you can and come to you own conclusions.
Mainstream media is trash, owned by corporate interests.
Geopolitics Is like watching a chess game happen based on world events.
People talk a lot of smack about RT , and some of the stories are ridiculous or outright trollish. But I really like it, It covers things the American media wont touch because the interests behind it are often polar opposites.
Im not at all religious, but say to myself almost every day:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.
One day at a time.
The truth isn't always comfortable.
Not knowing or ignoring it is sometimes easier.

I think we'd be much better off as a society if we were less afraid to talk about uncomfortable things.

Morality serves only to detriment perspective.
Everything is magnificently fascinating and beautiful with the right perspective.
Birth. Torture. Pistachio cheesecake. Accretion disks. Hamster feces. A penumbral eclipse. Psoriasis. Fission. Frequency.
Things like paying bills and scheduling and civics are just that much more fascinating because they encompass so many particular facets of existence.
Starving people still get to smell the earth and see sunlight. Stillborn babies are an amazing result of an innumerable set of terribly unlikely circumstances. That's precious. Running late to work should make you feel like you've won the cosmic lottery every god damn time. Getting to pay a bill? What an oddly sophisticated series of actions carried out by an oddly sophisticated grouping of elements. World population and water rationing? What curious syncopated maneuvering this collective of sentient element-masses decides to do with their time. You pollute your air and water? Wait! You have air and water?!
The more you simplify what substantiates any given thing, the easier it is to let go of identifying things as 'puny' or 'large' or 'important'.
Nothing is important. Everything is precious. You'll never be able to hold on to it all. So, with the time you have, it's probably best to focus on what fits in your palms and move on to the next thing.
If we all took time to look at the things in our palms, I'm sure things wouldn't have gotten so massively messed about.

you may have a problem resolving an appropriate sense of scale, especially if you fail to address any relevant issue by being distracted by the merest suggestion of some other scaled up drama.
I am certain there are more unsolved puzzles, and grievous injustices looming in every direction.
The main thing is that you don't constantly make bad things worse, or any good things bad.
But if you do want to spoil someone's snack, go on and natter about how it was killed, how it was tortured before death, and how it was fed crap till the real torture started, after it was bred without consent or concern, then processed by slavery, shipped using an excess of fossil fuel, jammed into layers of plastic, and served up by robots.

Some things are merely inexplicable with words.
I think that was one the big problems with Terence mckenna
Trying to describe the psychedelic experience is like trying to describe why the sun is good, or why boobs are good. lol
I had an unexpectedly strong experience the night I posted this, that made me question everything I thought I knew about it.
