Galerina marginata ?
    #26427867 - 01/11/20 10:43 AM (4 years, 18 days ago)

We had a 50 degree swing up in temperature so I decided to check out places ovoids had been transplanted too.  I seem to have a different mushroom species growing near where ovoid mycelium is.  I believe these are the "deadly Galerina".  Is that correct?

I don’t believe these are Galerina marginata due to coloring not being quite right, the excessive fibrousness of the stipe and lack of veil remnant. Has some similar looking features to Laccaria but I’m nowhere near confident about that.

I don’t know what they are, spore print and general locale would really help, but treat them as if they are toxic.

I kinda thought that too based on the gills and the smaller specimens but the only Tubaria I have experience with are teeny tiny and I’ve never seen them with a stipe that spindly and robust.

:takingnotes:

In Ohio, agricultural zone 6a.  Spores are a brownish orange color.  Maybe could call it rust color.

The giveaway is the veil remnants along the cap margin that often looks like coarse, white stitches, although
this isn't apparent in all specimens since it is often washed away when they're still quite young.
