My first monotub won’t fruit UPDATE

This is my first attempt at a monotub. I’m using PE, and I put it into fruiting 3 weeks ago today. The temp is ~65F and the humidity is 80%. It’s been cased with verm. So far I’m seeing nothing, and just before casing I had a nice fluffy, white substrate. Any suggestions ? 😄

Confession of an amateur - I struggle with liners for some reason. It's more basic than wrapping christmas gifts but I still have a hard time.
The pro to not having a liner is being able to see the condition of your sub. Where the myc is or isnt colonizing, any metabolites forming, or colonization of bacteria/trich going unnoticed.
The con which you've probably read and reasoned to use the liner is side pins. They arent the biggest deal but how big of a sacrifice is that to have some observation.
I hope someone can point you into a better direction just thought I'd share my two pennies with you
If nothing looks sus you should start seeing pins any day these next few days How much FAE have you introduced?

FAE initially was thru the poly-filled side and top holes, though the past couple days I’ve had it with the lid cracked to improve exchange.

Verm alone is not a good casing. Usually folks do 50 50 verm and peat with a little lime. PE takes a while to pin.

What I am guessing he's trying to say is the casing layer might lack nutrients Verm is used to regulate moisture content
Might get more out of the statement
Follow trusted teks to a T for more consistent responses. It's easier to identify deviations from the work instructions and trouble shoot common problems.

“Follow trusted teks to a T for more consistent responses. It's easier to identify deviations from the work instructions and trouble shoot common problems”.
This is great advice, but as a noob it’s hard to tell the trusted teks from the untrusted. There are so many strongly held beliefs (light exposure versus dark, fae versus none, etc etc) that it becomes confusing to me whose advice is best followed and whose is best ignored.

I ran PE in shoeboxes and tested casing and a little bit of consolidation.
I waited til 90% and cased with jiffy 5050 which is just peat and verm. I let all three shoeboxes hit 100% before fruiting, one right at 100, one 3 days later and the last three days after that. Didn’t notice a difference.
However I cased two and left one bare. The two that were cased did fantastic and the other was a handful of blobs.
I think I waited around two weeks to see my fist pins, and at least 8 days before second flush pins.
As long as it’s getting air it’ll happen eventually.
Have you grown PE before?

Its not about nutrients, its about water content and the myceliums ability to grow around it.

It’s been a month now since I put my first monotub into fruiting. Not sure whether to laugh or cry, but here is my entire crop. My plan is to just wait it out and see what happens. I’d welcome any suggestions.

That’s a pretty short tub. Might need more FAE than a normal mono

PE is a tough first grow for sure man, and can be inconsistent even when you do everything clean.

Lots of noobs come in hot posting some pretty impressive first yields. All the info is available just make sure the teks you follow are proven to give the results you want.
If you're looking for a good place to start look into agar work (pastywhyte easy agar) and what clean spawn should look like

Well I’m wondering then about my second tub too. It’s also PE and was spawned 12 days ago. This looks doomed too?
