BRF or diastatic malt powder agar question

First off, I apologize for starting a topic that's probably been covered multiple times. I've been trying to utilize the search bar as much as possible. It's gotten me this far at least.
I'm starting my first grow. I plan on going agar to grain then mono tubs. I have powder agar agar on hand and currently some brown rice flour and I also have some diastatic malt powder from making pizza dough on hand.
I'd really like to pour some plates this weekend and get my feet wet. I have 20 plates atm. What weights or measurements of agar agar to brf/diastatic malt powder would I need to pour 20 plates worth of 1.5% strength. Which would you recommend for cube plates from print. BRF or the distatic malt powder?
Thought is to mix 20 plates worth, split between two media bottles with different colors of food coloring purely for my own pleasure. PC, SAB pour and then inoculating with spore prints some time this weekend.
Any spoon feeding of this noob is appreciated.

Usually 10g agar powder to 500ml is normal. If you make two bottles you could always make them different levels of nutrients.
I’m not sure about the malt you have but with light malt extract 10g is also standard, but personally I like to use around 5-6. Usually the less nutrients the faster they grow.

Ok so 10g agar agar and anything from 50/50 mix of agar to nutrient or even 75/25 works?
Good to know. So would I add the agar and nutrients and then fill with water to the 500ml mark?

Yep there’s a bunch of recipes on here. Idk about your malt but with lme I pour all the lme and agar in then fill it up with water, then microwave it until it boils then pc it.
I never actually get it to boil I usually do a minute then swirl it around then keep hitting the 30 second button and swirling a few more times. I think it’s supposed to dissolve the lme and make it clearer.

Ok thank you, as a noob there’s so much info out there it’s hard to find a starting point. Maybe I will try 10g agar 5g BRF and 3g malt powder. I remember reading a thread about someone using the same malt powder so should be ok to use.

Diastatic malt will work but it sucks. Grab some real MEA. I made some LC with it once, I won't be using it again.
