Why do people bring their babies into adult places?

I'm talking like "mature" movies of the R-rated kind, a fancy play at a nice theater, etc.

And you know that the baby will inevitably cry. I can't tell you how many movies have been ruined because someone brought their young baby into a movie, it started to cry, and the inconsiderate parent REFUSED to take the baby out so that the rest of us could try to enjoy the film. So then you miss the dialog because the baby's annoying wail is sending knives splicing into your spine and brain.

If the parent brings a baby into a movie theater (especially a rated R movie) they should AT LEAST be respectful enough to the other movie-goers to take their baby out when it starts screaming for an exceptionally long time.

Do you agree?

I agree, that shit annoys the hell out of me. When I gave my speech at graduation this stupid little brat kept screaming. But thats not what really bothers me. Things like movies and speeches are minor inconveniences, what I really hate to see is when parents (usually teen parents, but not always) bring their infants into drug situations. Babies just don't belong in a room full of people who are smoking cigarettes (among other things) and selling drugs.

That pisses me off terribly also mang. I went over to a buddies house to smoke a blunt one time and his little 4 or so year old nephew was hanging around the whole time. I was like, dude, you sure this is cool? He's like yeh, he doesnt know what it is.

That is also dangerous. When I was in kindergarten I remember telling my teacher that my dad "smoked those skinny ciggarettes that you make yourself. They smell funny too." Lol. Teacher didnt seem to pay it much mind, but smoking or doing anything in front of a young child is a security breach in my opinion, and it certainly isn't good for children to be around stuff like that anyway.... even herb in my opinion. It's alright if your a parent that smokes herb or does other things, as long as you can still care for your child. And for god sakes, at least go do it in the bathroom  :sad:

Agreed, while recently watching The Passion in a theatre, some kids were obviously horribly disturbed by the whole incident and their mother had to drag the toddlers out... Damn she should have known  :rolleyes:

as a parent I would like to say.... it pisses me off too... my kids been to theatres, resturants and the like with no real problems... we watched IMAX film on the great barrier reef from the front row... there was never a problem with my child, most of the older people even commented on it...

there wa a problem with every 6-9 yo screaming "nemo" or "dory"every time a fish was on screen

normaly I have someone watch the baby if we see a film, usualy he's very well behaved in public os I have little problem with taking him if I have no other choice... when he does start to get fussy I quickly exit, if I cant calm him and return to the movie then I just miss the rest until it comes out on video

I think prisoners considerate attitute seems to be more common male parents rather than female ones. Anyone else think so?

Why is it wrong to smoke a joint in the same room as your kid, assuming they dont mind the smoke? We're not gonna get drugs legalized anytime soon if we keep them taboo. I'm not saying it's perfectly fine to take kids to crackhouses, I'm talking about personal drug use in the privacy of your own home that does not harm the health of the child. When I have children I plan to be fully open about my drug use, but a lot can change over time. This is just my current opinion.

Noone should have to breath your secondhand smoke. Your child will have no choice but to breath smoke if you do it in their presence. I recently quit smoking and I used to be the worlds worst about bitching whenever someone else would bitch about my smoking. I would say that It ain't so bad or if you don't like it you can walk away, but now I know that it really sucks to be surounded by smoke and you have no recourse but to miss out on social place to get away from it.

No smoke is harmless. Your kids don't deserve to pay the consequences for your choices.

My dad used to every once in a while..... well around when i was 10 or so.... I just thought how nasty and gross it was.... Could never understand how someone would do that.

I would tell myself....."all never do something like that!"  (hahaha)

7 years later........  :stoned:

edit: oops and about the whining babies in movies.......... god it sucks..... but usually if it goes on too long, the parent will leave..... from my XP....

aahahah, when i went to see the last LOTR some d00dz cell phone went off.......

As soon as the phone ringed once there was some other guy that replied..... "God damnit!" and everybody started rolling.  It was during a quiet time of the movie so it kind of broke the tension.
