can you kill peat moss?

here's a dumb question, is peat moss alive? i am planning to case with a 50/50 peat moss and verm, and i was curious if i baked or pressure cooked the moss if it would be destroyed. i am not very intelligent so give me a break if this is retarded. thank you everybody at the shroomery.

You are not dumb for asking a question mate. I did some research and the peat moss you will probably be using is dead. Check this site.
