They look like Panaeolus sp. Can you take a spore print?

They look a bit different from the pan. cinctulus I've found before. One has a worm infestation so the gills look a little off. Cinctulus or something different?

Yes, most definitely panaeolus. No, I left them there. Maybe I'll find them next time.

Without a spore print, no. Could be cinctulus, coukd be foenisecii, could be one of the half dozen similar species. Without a spore print, it's all just guesswork.

You'll need to collect them and take a print.

It's not foenesecii. Never found them in SE-Asia. Sporeprint's black. I do not have a microscope so if I took a sporeprint it wouldn't tell anything more than the colour.
Which other non-bluing panaeoli looks similar in your opinion?

I guess they could be either P. cinctulus, P. fimicola or P. olivaceus.

It is my impression that these species are variable and can thus overlap a bit when it comes
to macroscopic features, but still hard to tell without microscopy or eventually DNA analysis.

Agree. Fimicola and olivaceus usually have a duller, greyer colour, though. Think I have to get myself a microscope... 😀

Okay, a small quiz - which of these are P. cinctulus:

None. Left and middle are P. olivaceus, last is P. fimicola.

Thought it was a trick question 😂 Found both and they usually look like the ones on the sides. The one in the middle I would probably have taken for a cinctulus, though. Didn't know olivaceus could be that brown, point well taken! Thanks for the info. Still, olivaceus usually has a lighter stipe and the fimicola doesn't turn whitish on drying, do they?
