Pp5 ketchup cups for agar?

I have a metric fuck ton of these things. What are people's preferred methods for using these. Pour and then pc? PC a bunch in a sleeve and pour in SAB? Can I just use alcohol to sanitize and then pour sterile agar with hopes of not too many plates being contaminated?
Not sure where to start.

Do not use alcohol then pour sterile agar! The plates will contaminate 100%.

Lol I have used cups just wiped with alcohol or even straight up as it came in the package with some success, but you do get a lot of contams in my experience. Pc works great, my issue is that I end up collapsing almost every pp5 container I use for agar :c Good luck /,,/,

So i just fill them with a small layer of agar, close them up, wrap them in foil and pc for 20 or 30 minutes?
I'm not sure the tops are made of pp5 as well, it may just be the cup part because that is where the pp5 logo is found.
I guess I'll go ahead and try it with ten or so and see if they come out intact. Thanks guys.

Ive never seen those with PP5 lids. I suspect the lids wont hold up in the PC.

I did too until I realized the holes weren't for gass exchange, they are for pressure equalization in the pc... and I felt really stupid

So I have some PP5 containers which are pretty large compared to a petri, does this mean they wouldn't need holes for gas exchange in order to grow? I'm pouring agar in to them and it'd make the whole process much easier if they didn't need this.

They still need a way for pressure to equalize anyway so you may as well do gas exchange on no pour petri dishes. Unless you want them to pop open. Also for sterilization to occur you need steam penetration.
Some part of the jar needs to be porous to steam. Could be a loose lid or gas exchange filter

My petris have no holes and are sealed with Saran wrap after nocing. The holes are not so the myc can breathe. They are there so the pressure can equalize and keep the lids from popping off. Without the holes, either the pressure with build and pop the lid or trapped air will prevent proper sterilization and you will have contams on your plates.
My bad BOD, didn't see you had already answered.

We were correct, the lids are definitely not pp5. I wrapped eight of them in foil with some agar and pced for 30 minutes at fifteen pounds and almost all of the lids melted shut onto the cups. I guess next time I will wrap them in foil individually and not use the lids and just lid them in my SAB. They are still going to be usable but had to give them new lids.
All the cups were fine, one was a little mishapen but no big deal. I'm going to use these little things to determine with agar works best for GT and B .

PP5 deli containers work well, but uts the same thing, you have to make sure the lids are PP5 too.
Also, check out that link Alien was talking about, its some really cool shit.

I see this guy on Youtube (I'm not going to mention "Home Mycology" by name... ooops) spouting about how he wipes ketchup cups with ISO and uses them (aside from his other horriffically bad ideas...) and just want to throttle him for throwing that idea out there. Wonder how many people have tried that now becasue of him.
OP from what I'm reading there at the end you managed to sterilize your containers in the PCC but no the lids and now you want to "lid them in your SAB". I'm guessing you're just going ahead and trying to wipe the lids with ISO in your SAB? If so, just know you're begging for contams. You can grab 8 ziplock minis for a few bucks at the store. I highly recomend saving yourself the headache. Best of luck
