Whats your least favorite part of the process?

You know, the one thing that annoys you that wish you could pay someone to do.
For me. Dealing with those fucking liners in my monos. Cutting the right size, then the worst part, trimming off the excess. Especially the corners. I dread it every time. Especially when taking on large projects.

The waiting. If I could pay someone to speed up my jars' colonization that would be nice. Lol.
I have no problem with fitting and trimming monotub liners. I use heavy duty black trash bags, I forget how many gallons exactly. I just cut or fold them in half, fit them into the bottom of the monotub, and dump my spawn and sub in, mix, then trim away excess liner. Taping for clothes pinning the sides up so they don't fall in on you can make it even easier.
It's pretty easy for me after you make the first cut. The first cut is always trickier cause its normally and awkward angle.

Mix everything in the bag befor putting it into the tub, then like blink said, tape the sides and use a razor to trim the excess

Harvesting tubs and then putting them in the dehydrators. Always a two hour project every other day.

I would say the waiting from dish to grain to finally seeing how it performs and fruits. So many cultures so little time in the human life span.

Clean up. Same with cooking. Not really into cleaning up my mess after making a batch of PF Tek for example.

Lol I have a bowl with a little bit of petrified brf/verm mix somewhere in my growroom.
The first two posts were my top two. I just made three tubs, hate cutting liners but not as much as harvesting in the tub or cleaning it out after.
That and all the waiting. So much waiting.

For me, probably the grain part. Getting it just right, inoculating it cleanly, shaking the jars...
Is that too big of a part to count as my least favourite part?

Definitely agree on the grain prep aspect.
I have misophonia so using my PC for prepping grain is annoying as fuck.

I totally agree.
If you have a presto 16qt you can do BODs 3 quarter trick and it keeps the giggler from hissing. It's the only way to rock that PC

Setying up the SAB. it always seems to take ages to bring it downstairs, clean it (the cats sleep in it), spray, wait, put stuff in, run around gathering other supplies washing my hands like 6 times during the process... I'm happy once im finally working but setup and clean up are so boring!

That’s why I ended up building a flowhood. Well worth every penny and time spent learning to learn to build.
Sometimes it can be a PITA to clean - especially if I have both a bunch of tubs and jars. Maybe I should just hire someone to clean em for me.

Grain prep. Managed to streamline it a little bit but still, it's just so time consuming. Not labor intensive, just so much start and stop. Soak grain, boil water, drain soak, pour on boil water, wait, drain, wait, load in jars, load PC, wait, turn off PC, wait .... Was even worse when I was doing the overnight soak. So I guess it's not as bad as it could be.
My SAB work has become the easiest part for me. And I love agar work so that later is a blast for me. Makes me feel like a real scientist in a sense. SAB never moves and is in a room used for nothing but lab work so my setup time\edfort is is minimal.

I dread prepping no pour dishes. Mixing agar and pouring those is a breeze, as is covering holes with micropore tape, but a small square of paper towel on top to help with moisture and then foil over the mini rounds UUGGHHHH. I guess I really hate putting foil on stuff before going into the PC, mini rounds and grain jars, such a time consuming PITA.

foil was my least favorite part until I recently discovered it's not necessary on grain jars. There was an ongoing discussion in the cultivation general discussion thread about it. I'm using SFDs but others have verified success with micropore with no foil. I have since given up on foil on my jars and I am so happy about it

Agar to grain, takes so dam long. Working in a SAB. Grain prep, straining, running the pc only to find it too wet/dry. I like it when the pins start growing though.
