Transferring In Vitro Pin To Agar?

So I've got this little baby mush growing in one of my cake jars. I'm assuming that's what everyone is referring to as a pin. It's the first mush I've ever grown.
I'm wondering if when I birth the jar I can take that little guy and throw it on agar? Would it convert back to myc? Should I cut it in half or something?

You could cut that pin into several pieces and put it to agar and get some mycelium growing, yes.

You don't have to cut it. You could just throw the whole thing on agar. It will grow. For best results, clean the jar with iso and do it in a SAB (this may be obvious, just making sure)

Yes, being sterile is the plan. I'm assuming it's still sterile in the jar. Thanks for making sure! I think I'll prob end up doing two plates with it, just to be safe.
That jar has just finished colonizing so I'm going to give it another week.

I would agree that noc'ing up at least two plates is a smart move. Contaminations will find their way in and the plates you have going the better your chances are.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Not a bad idea to have a backup.
Man, I love that pic of the mush on the cake at the bottom of your posts.
