Chimera 3

Chimera, in genetics, an organism or tissue that contains at least two different sets of DNA, most often originating from the fusion of as many different zygotes (fertilized eggs). The term is derived from the Chimera of Greek mythology, a fire-breathing monster that was part lion, part goat, and part dragon.
Fascinating stuff going on with me. December 13th I had a bone marrow transplant where I got stem cells from two baby girls. They do two because one may not be enough for true engraftment. So now I will forever have two sets of DNA. My blood will have female DNA from another person, my blood type will change to the new host while my skin, organs and hair will continue to grow with my original DNA from birth.
Doctors say this wont effect me hormonaly but I've been reading on how it can actually change my brain chemistry and make me cry while watching sad commercials. Eventually one set of stem cells will completely take over and my entire immune system will be brand new, Ill have to get new immunization (baby) shots, I may or may not still be allergic to shellfish or I may develop new allergies that my host would normally develop.
Crazy stuff, They actually had a birthday for me here at the hospital when they hung up the donors stem cells. Essentially I am now both man and woman all living in the same body.
Crazy shit, anyone have any experience with this sort of transplant?

I am pretty sure than being sensitive (crying during commercials) is more about female hormone cocktail and they being more open about emotions and feelings.
I am also pretty sure that if it had any kind of impact transexuals would totally want that, and i never heard anyone wanting that.
Your chimerism is totally fine, you can keep your man card as long as you still pass the tests.

What an interesting topic! I expect those babies were more closely matched to you than you realize, especially regarding blood type. Great comment about trans people too. I can totally see this becoming part of a persons transition once the idea gets spread. They’re not gonna hear it from me.

Im not sure doctors would even entertain the idea, not in America anyway. The process begins with a full week of prep with multiple blood tests, MRI, X-Ray, Stress tests and heart and breathing tests just to see if you can handle the procedure. Then you go through a full week of chemotherapy and total body radiation to kill off any cancer and completely wipe out your own bone marrow. Then you start week three where your body isn't creating its own marrow, yogur blood dies and you have zero white blood cells, zero hemoglobin, zero platelets, your potassium and magnesium levels get to the point where it should kill you but your kept alive through iv fluids and daily blood/platelet infusions.
AND you WAIT. You take anti rejection medication which makes you feel sicker than the chemo ever would but it allows your body to absorb the donors stem cells and replace them as your own, this can bring you up to.... WEEK 5, your body begins to heal its self, your still on all iv meds but your blood begins to make its own new immune system from the stem cells and you begin to feel a little bit better, this is where I am today. I still cant taste food, I still throw up daily, Im still not yet fully grafted with my donors immune system which should take one more week and all I have to look forward to is a 100 day stay where I'm restricted to wearing a mask anytime I go into public, I cant eat all sorts of foods, I have to avoid the sun, I cant pet animals, It's like Ill be in prison. All with a price tag of over 1 MILLION dollars.
$560,000 Initial 35 day stay in hospital. $80,000 2 week at home care $65,000 Just to get the two donors cord blood and find a match. $700,000 pre approved for just the hospital portion of what Im doing now $150,000 Out patient treatment for 100 days with daily clinic visits and all the fun.
Still, Im sure that someone with enough money would convince doctors somewhere to have this procedure done, it wouldnt change the DNA of the skin, organs and brain but everything else would be female for sure.

It makes me sad that you have to go through this hell, hopefully, you find peace and comfort soon. Life definitely isn't fair to everyone, what is making you have to go through all of this, if you don't mind me asking?

It's brutal. I got chemo years ago, i wouldn't recomment it to anybody. If what you are going through is worse then you have all my sympaties.
Good luck.

there are several stories where after an organ transplant, patients start having similar food cravings, and other similaritys with the organ donor.. i cannot remember completely, but there are theories that memories are not all stored in the brain, but some 'memories' are actually within the body tissue.
there was a study on flat worms, the experimenter would shine a light, then give the worms an electric shock, making them curl up.. eventually the worms learned to curl up as soon as they see the light, in anticipating for the inevitable electric shock.. the worms could be cut in half and regenerate themselves into two worms.. they thought the half with the brain would remember the light shock training, but the lower half would not remember and need retraining, but that was not the case, both halves remembered to curl at the light.. then they cut up a trained worm, and fed it to an untrained worm, the untrained worm gained the memory to curl at the light! worms have a simple digestion system that prevented the breakdown of RNA, or smething, which they think the memory came from. more complex organisms (like peoples) stomach acids mostly destroys the RNA.. preventing leaning threw eating? ..here are just some quick links from google to prove im not crazy here...
https://knowledgenuts.com/2014/04/09/some-animals-can-consume-knowledge-by-eating-other-animals/ https://www.apa.org/monitor/2010/06/memory-transfer https://www.theverge.com/2015/3/18/8225321/memory-research-flatworm-cannibalism-james-mcconnell-michael-levin https://everything2.com/title/The+ability+of+planarian+worms+to+run+a+maze+more+successfully+after+being+fed+the+remains+of+a+successful+worm
Memories from organ transplant Cellular memory is the idea that memories and personality traits can be stored in any individual cells or in other organs, not just in the brain. ... One study followed 10 organ transplant recipients and found that there were two to five parallels with the donor's history per transplant recipient.Oct 15, 2016 https://blogs.unimelb.edu.au/sciencecommunication/2016/10/15/organ-transplants-a-change-of-heart-in-more-ways-than-one/ https://listverse.com/2016/05/14/10-organ-recipients-who-took-on-the-traits-of-their-donors/ https://www.namahjournal.com/doc/Actual/Memory-transference-in-organ-transplant-recipients-vol-19-iss-1.html https://www.effective-mind-control.com/cellular-memory-in-organ-transplants.html
...there is also a pretty good sci-fi movie called 'chimera' but it's more about rich people trying to live forever.

I have worked with flat worms in the lab, they can be cut into several sections and each one will regenerate the missing parts. They were one of the first organisms I had the chance to observe in a controlled environment.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday marks one year since the bone marrow transplant that I got to treat my acute myeloid leukemia. I had a spinal tap and bone marrow biopsy today and to celebrate I got a suite at the Doubletree hotel near the hospital for three nights. I'm ordering delivery from all my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis / St Paul for breakfast, lunch and dinner and my room has a comfortable king size bed. I'm going to do nothing but lay in bed and eat good food and watch movies for the next two days. Then it's back to work.
Hooray for ME! I'M CANCER FREE!
