Too Late to put casing layer on?
    #26421515 - 01/07/20 05:04 PM (4 years, 22 days ago)

I am considering a casing layer as I live in a very dry climate.

I do not have pins yet but there are small white dots that will soon become pins.
Is this too late to put a casing on or should it be ok?

Anybody else live in a dry climate find it very beneficial to use a casing layer?

If it hasn't been too exposed go for it.

Late casing, is a thing.

can it mess up my yield if I put the casing in too late?

also if i do the 50/50 casing with Verm/Peat moss, is it asbolutely necessary to use the lime and gypsum?

My room is 15% rh. I’ve only done a real casing a few times, which all turned out awesome, but adding a top layer of coir made a huge difference and is what I usually do now.

Nice! When do you normally apply the top layer of coir?

Right at spawn. I mix it level it then add about another 1/3 inch of coir and level it again.
