Want to move on from BFR cakes, what next??
    #26421062 - 01/07/20 01:07 PM (4 years, 22 days ago)

So my set up is coil in a humidity chamber, 4 to 6 cakes at a time. Yield is pretty average to be honest. I want to grow more at a time but I don't really want to deviate too far from the BFR tek.

Is a monotub the way to go....??....Any help would be awesome...Thanks..

Yep. Shoeboxes are super easy just mix them up put the lid on and wait for mushrooms. Plus you can get an ounce on the first flush fairly consistently doing ms grows.

Try a dub tub or something. I wouldnt jump right to monotub. Get used to working with grain first. Just my opinion

I don't know what you mean..but you don't sterilize your substrate you just pasteurize it, or in some instances such as coir, you just have to hydrate it.

but ya grains are where it at man... you can get about as much as you would from 12 half pints of brf, with one single quart of grains grown out right..

right that's what I'm saying..
most subs get pasteurized or not even...

I do the bucket tek which is basically like pasteurizing my coir, but many people don't even do that.

You gotta get jars and make the lids then sterilize the seeds.

But yeah after that you just need to put coir in a bucket and dump hot water on it and once it cools down throw some in the shoebox and mix the spawn in and that’s it.

You don’t need to fan luckily that turned out to be unnecessary.

Yeah brf to coir shoeboxes will work. Mix them up level it out put like 1/3 inch layer of coir on top, level again, mist the surface for a few seconds then put the top on and wait for shrooms.
