Quitting weed, long term smoker... tips?
    #26420815 - 01/07/20 11:13 AM (4 years, 22 days ago)

Hey, so Ive been smoking weed daily for the past 8 years or so and I feel totally dependant on it.

I've never been addicted to any other substance in my life because i believed weed was saving me from doing something much worse but I come to understand it has destroyed me as a person... It makes me unsociable, anxious, unmotivated, tired all the time, waste of money.

But at the same time I feel like I cant be happy or relaxed untill ive had a smoke, then once ive had a smoke all i think about is when my next smoke will be.

Anyone have some good tips or just maybe your own story on how you managed to quit for good, does it get easyer or harder the longer you go without?

any advice is truly appreciated

You describe it so well I can totally relate to that. Where your at is where I want to be... sounds like you have much will power and also inspire me to do the same.

I never thought that it could affect family so much, they all look down at me for my smoking habbits... its this pain i want to end... makes me feel sick sometimes but i guess weed is masking my real emotions and feelings.

Damn I dont remember what a dream is, my last dream I can remember was around 8 years ago haha.

Thank you for your response, its good to know other people had the same/similar experience... I will refer to this post daily and remind myself that im doing this for my family, not myself.

You really want to quit something but you just can't do it even though you want to, because the desire keeps coming up and it redirects your energies away from your resolve and towards your cravings.

When that happens, quitting no longer makes sense to you on a heart level even though your thinking mind may still want to quit.  Then you're still using and you don't even want to.  This will really fuck with your head and you may start calling yourself an idiot and come to believe you are just inherently a fucked up person.

If you want a quick way out of this, you can flood with ibogaine.  It will break those circuits that have developed in your mind which cause addiction and trap you there.  You will have a fresh start and regain the power to control yourself when it comes to this.

This really works, and is really a serious matter.  Ibogaine is a powerful drug that must be taken properly, in the proper conditions, or it is dangerous.  But it can be done at home by a person without contra-indications like diseased organs.  Ive seen three people do it.

I think it’s pretty ridiculous to push ibog onto someone with a cannabis habit.  If you are truly on the edge of using hard drugs you don’t have much to lose but to resort to such a dangerous and unpredictable treatment just because you are feeling bummed out over no weed is a little over the top  IMO

I see what you mean but I really don't want to use a drug to get off another drug. Excluding shrooms I believe there helping me and no bad side effects/non-addictive.

Never heard of ibogaine, sounds really interesting though... On day 2 with no weed so see how I can do with will power alone

i hate hemp! im so mad i could just go to sleep, which is what ive been doing, because idk what to do, i'm just trapped.
it's NOT medicinal, all those positive effects i got from real mid-grade affordable cannabis, are reversed into negatives.
instead of happy, relaxed, prioductive.. i'm stressed, angry, and always have a headache, i use to never get headaches!

the past year, hemp flowers became available in smoke shops, and all real weed dissapeared, can't find it anywhere.
everyone i know started selling hemp, acting like it was real.. recently i was practically poisoned by one of these jerks'
..i believe they put cannabinoids on hemp, sold it as real weed.. it gave me weired high, and then i was sick 12 hours.

real cannabis (affordable mid) is the only medicine that ever worked for me, now it's completely non-existant around here.
hemp flower look like high-grade 'loud' cannabis, and just as expensive (which i never prefered, i like the mid-grade stuff)
after hemp is burned, it stinks, like burnt tobacco or something, this is best way ive found to ID hemp flower, and it sucks!

I can't help it.  Ibogaine can enable you to completely overcome an addiction for the rest of your life with one flood.

It's a hell of a lot easier than 12 steps or will power or rehab or anything else Ive heard of to get straight.  The cravings will likely completely cease.  This time next week OP could be totally over it and not have that desire for pot dog him/her ever again hardly.  Because being dogged by craving is nearly as bad as using.  It just ruins your whole day.

Im just putting it out there.  That's what the truth is.  I'm amazed by it too.  I saw a remorseless drunk who was hammered for 12 years put down the bottle forever because of ibogaine.  Easily.  I'd never heard of such a thing.

AA has guys fall off the wagon all the fucking time.  They don't really want to quit!  They know they have to quit, but really, they wish they could stay drunk forever,  they wish that was the way things were.  You hear their stories of some night at a concert they were sure they were going to drink but they saw so and so from the AA group and that gave them the strength to abstain for the night.  The next day will be full of snares and triggers too, and they take that shit, one day at a time.

The ibogaine treated person no longer desires it, no longer sees any value in using their former drug of choice.  They develop a maturity about it that they just never could before.  They are over it.

It's not dangerous unless you have compromised organ health, as in an actual medical condition, or have other drugs acting on you when you take it.

Just saying.  People need to know what's what so they can make the choices that are theirs to make.  Ibogaine is still mostly underground.  I feel an obligation to talk about it because it should be known.

It took how long before medical marijuana was allowed?  That used to be dangerous too.  Now it treats seizures.  Im sure ibogaine will be a normal treatment at some point in the future too.  It has to be.  It works.  It works on this nearly hopeless, complex problem of addiction, somehow.

Very interesting seems like there's something to this ibogaine.
I googled it and seen words like cardiovascular health, organ health, dissoactive properties.

Sounds kinda scary lol I need to alot more reading before I take any steps towards that.

I just don't see a weed addiction could be worse than an alcohol or hard drug addiction... I will need to find some story's about weed users using this ibogaine and see what their results were.

you would have to take a long trip to Canada, and pay who knows how much, to have a legal and controlled iboga session.
it can be very dangerous if taken wrong, plus weed is 100% legal there.. i'd rather just move to Canada and grow cannabis.

A trip to Canada sounds fantastic I've always wanted to go wild camping in the Canadian wilderness... I suppose that is an option (last resort) if I manage a month without I'll feel pretty confident about it.

Day 3 so far keeping real busy with some mycology and planted lots of new herbs and some cucumber plants...

Hopefully no slips though

Hi.

You don't NEED to go to another country to do ibogaine in an expensive clinic.  There are online sources who will send you ibogaineHCL in the mail.  The cost for one flood is about 500USD.

The three people I know who used it did it at home.

It sounds scary to do, the effects are very, very strong.  The psychedelic trip it induces is profound, and the drug has a quality of metaphorically killing you and putting you through rebirth.  You'll be laid right out, helpless, for a few dozen hours, unable to walk, or even think.  All activities bring nausea and  dizziness.  All you can do to not be in pain is watch the dreams it induces with 100% attention.

But the trip also has a quality of deep compassion.  I have never heard of anyone having a bad trip.  Ibogaine promotes mental health, always.  Unlike LSD or something where people have been broken for life sometimes from a bad trip.

Ibogaine doesn't do that.  It is a purely benevolent, enlightened bodhisatta type spirit that just wants to help, if I may put it that way.

Personally I have found the combination of cooking quality food with fresh ingredients and weight lifting (simple compound exercises, not those machines) to be effective. That's just me though. I get strong urges to smoke, and then I go do a bunch of barbell stuff and cook something delicious. It's not easy, but over time it gets a lot easier.

From what Ive seen, it's all good.  Nothing gets removed that you would want to keep.  Only some shit that's keeping you down gets removed.

After about 24 hours or so, you can sip little bits of water and not vomit it up.  It's important to do the ibogaine in a safe comfortable pace.  If you were somewhere too hot in that condition, it could be bad.  Your body is definitely compromised while you're on it.  You are vulnerable.  Safe comfortable place and someone you trust to sit with you are essentials.  An ibogaine trip is a big deal.  I don't care how much acid and mushrooms you may have done, this will floor you.

I'd micro dose my way out of it. I'd quit smoking, micro dose some shrooms for 10 days then quit that.
My wife has told me i wait to long to smoke when micro-dosing.

Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
