What in tarnation? (contam or what? w/ pics)

This is B+ on grain spawn, inoculated into vermiculite, coconut coir, castings, bat guano. I let them sit maybe 2 weeks after fully colonize because I was working way too much. Whenever they first started popping I noticed the Caps had a light white color to them. I was worried that this abnormal coloring could have been mold growing on top, and sprayed them down with peroxide. Does anyone have a firm opinion on whether this is mold affecting the way that they're growing, causing the Caps to split, and causing discoloration? I'm also wondering if spraying peroxide on them when they were so young could have caused any of this.

Edit:finally able to upload photos

I have had several people and tek write ups suggest dunking or spraying with dilute peroxide in order to save a batch that appears to be starting to mold. If you can catch it early on. That may be wrong but I have read it in many venues. I'm posting the picture from my phone and the bbcode would not work for me. Does anyone have clues as to why caps would start out with a whitish tint (doesn't quite look like mold I'm familiar with). Growth appears to be stunted so I increased FAE a bit. They are growing but slowly and many caps are splitting or deformed. I have used these Genetics before with great results.

Throw your peroxide in the medicine cabinet.
Side pinning like that is usually due to low humidity. How is your mono configured? How many holes and how large?

The blueing is due to overdrying the sub

It’s just genetic, a lot of my golden teachers have those white lumps on the caps.
It’s also either too dry or the peroxide did something to make those caps crack.
Good cluster though.

Thanks for the helpful words. I have 1/8" holes spaced half inch apart all the way around the tub about 1" above the top of sub. I also have 2x 1.5" squares on the long sides and one on the short sides with loose polyfill. I use a box fan one foot from the tub facing in the opposite direction on low to facilitate fae after I get a good pinset.
Should I try a quick dunk to breathe some moisture back into the sub? I'm afraid misting may just create an environment for mold

Ah! My teachers did the same thing but they weren't splitting, but sub does seem dry now that you guys mentioned it. I am unfamiliar rehydration mid flush when they need this much moisture. I will do some more research on this now that I have clues. Thanks!

Tape up all the little holes and either turn the fan off or tighten the polyfil a bit.
Mist lightly, 1-2 times a day. You’ll be Gucci, mayne.

Awesome. Done and done. This is only my second tub and no matter how much I read there is so much contradicting content. I was wondering why the side pins wouldn't be affected, but if there is a lack of surface moisture that all makes sense now. I taped the holes and misted the edges of the tub well, and just a light spritz over the surface for now. I will continue this and update with results just in case anyone is else comes across the same issue in the future.

They are pinning so hard I really wanted to save them. I have four or five clusters this size right now. If I can bring them back it should be a lovely sight. Thanks so much for the helpful and kind words everyone.

Mushrooms are more resilient than most people can imagine. You can pluck a pin from your sub, dig it into another sub or some uncolonized coir and it’ll just keep growing from there.

It's bizarre. Almost as if it's growing in thin air from the side.

UPDATE:
After I reduced FAE and began misting, they came back very quickly. They stopped cracking, turning blue, and aborting.

They all opened overnight. Bummed they dropped spores, we will see what happens with flush 2. I have never seen a pin form on top of a cap like that. What I thought was a mold forming must be a cluster of mycelium... Can anyone elaborate on the picture with the abort forming on a cap? Anyone else had this happen before
