looks like your well on your way;) its all a balance between maximizing fresh air without compromising humidity. once you learn the signs that tell you if its too humid or dry you will easily be able to adjust conditions accordingly. those look great!

Well...
A flush is the cycle in which a substrate is currently fruiting mushrooms. Most substrates yield 3-4 flushes, sometimes more sometimes less.
Being that you seem to be in the middle of a good flush what is your question?

There are lots of things that go into getting a good flush. Proper hydration of everything, sterilization, finding a good culture, using a proper FC, balancing FAE with RH.
What do you think you have a problem with?
-------------------- Yep.

You’re doing it.
Maybe a little more air.
Other than that don’t touch it and go about your life for three days then return with a knife.

Flushes aren’t “done”. The term describes one harvest of one tub, that’s all.

Those guys look great to me! I'd be proud.
"Doing a flush" though. Still not understanding, do you mean - how do you harvest them and get ready for the next flush?

im sure they mean how to get a good flush. whats not to understand? once you learn to recognize and maintain proper conditions you'll be getting lots of good flushes

Are you asking how to re hydrate your substrate after the harvest?

well, if it is indeed a cake then dunking would be in order but if it is substrate in a tote of some sort just mist thoroughly between flushes. I line my totes and there is always water that pools beneath the liner. I dump this back into the liner as my "bottom water" not necessary but its what I do

Haha Growerite came over to the blue side, huh?
The Myco version of “flush” is “dunk”.
You pour water in the tub, wait a couple hours, pour the water out.

Wow, really?
Misting just seems ineffective. Like you’d need to mist a reeeaaally thick layer to add just 100-200ml of water to the sub....wouldn’t you?

I wouldnt say I mist that much. just enough to provide good surface conditions again and maybe once more when I see pins if its dried out at all. feel the sub after 1st flush. it should still feel pretty heavy, right? thats water weight. youll be good for another flush. now after 2nd flush feel the sub it should be much lighter. at this point I toss after 2nd flush. if you want to push your sub past that then Id recommend a bottom water. it really is quite a PITA to have to pour water off tubs from a dunk especially if space is limited. I used to dunk religiously way back but I dont notice any difference in yields. if anything theres bigger 2nd flush yields cause I dont break any subs trying to do a pour off any more

Son of a bitch, that makes perfect sense. I guess dunking is just something I never questioned the effectiveness of cause I’ve been doing it for so long. Gonna stick with misting.
Nowadays I’m keeping tubs around for 4-6 flushes, but only while I don’t have enough spawn in rotation to make a fresh tub. That should change by the end of the month.

I've literally weighed substrates before and after dunking and not even seen a big improvement in weight.
I feel like dunking is something many of us used to do, but no longer do. Hehe

I am about to get started with SS, and have been putting together my knowledge in the way a plane about to crash lands scraping and on fire sliding to a screeching halt getting a 9.5/10 score from the judges.
Sorry if this is too newb for thread, when you flush out of a monotub, firstly do you cut the fruits at the base so there is a stump or make it 'flush' with substrate? And as far as dunking, how do you empty a monotub without everything (substrate) pouring out too? Will probably mist as was mentioned, however a friend gave me a novel idea of metal food trays inside of a monotub, so monosubtub? But what do y'all think of trays in a monotub that can be taken out for dunking/flushing vice versa etc?

Should work. You can also use a liner and pull the whole sub up with the sides of the liner.. or just pull up on one short side of the liner while you pull up the opposite short side of the tub at the same time and pull towards you so that the sub ends up sitting in the short side the tub ( the opening of the tub will be vertical instead of horizontal)

That is a very good idea, I will have time to familiarize the process but if anyone feels like playin OG and throwing some ropes at a blind man let's play WHEE- weekly cultivation iteration.
Do you just rip the fruits pop off, or like cut above the casing leaving a stump, or cut as low as possible? Also side note, my gut tells me doing a traditional monotub would be better on 2 main points only newb Intuit but the mycelium Network in one giant tub vs 4 quarter sized trays would be better off, plus better surface area utilization, what y'all got to say about mycelical network anatomy? I have a thirst for knowledge (and maybe LC) that cannot be quenched
