The Next Step

God, the Universe, or whatever you want to call it – is a rather simplistic machine. It starts with a base design, finds what works, keeps that and discards the rest. This leads to a machine that builds upon and upon and upon. In the case of modern humans, this started as very basic intelligence at the dawn of our time here and grew into higher and higher levels of consciousness. In modern wo/man you find the ability to reason and rationalize better than any other species on the planet. So we find this sort of tree, a tree called consciousness – its trunk is in the deepest recesses of time – its crown seeming to be here and now. But is it?
We are (so far) the crowning jewel of the entire Universe. A system within a system, capable of the same building, analyzing, rebuilding, and so on – all while being a part of that system. Thats pretty neat to say the least. Billions of years of slow, steady change, bringing about this interesting circus we find ourselves in. Beyond this point in time, I believe there is a further evolution waiting to happen. Its currently sitting in the side lines, waiting for its moment to shine. All through time we’ve had visionaries, we’ve had mystics, and philosophers, members of our own advanced species seeming to pull ahead of the rest. They see through the forms and colors to the governing dynamics of this reality we inhabit. This state is the next evolutionary leap, and will be the true crowning jewel of our Universe.
When this type of consciousness takes root, the world will not be the place we left it so recently ago. Many of the things we take for granted, the things we love, and the things we hate, will not find a home in this new world. There will be no need for religion, no need to profess belief or disbelief. All at once, the entirety of the species will obtain first hand knowledge and conversation with the creator. Whether or not that creator is intelligent in the way we’d expect, being an entirely different question. We’ll no longer see droves of veterans and others starving in the streets – because each and every one of us will understand the utter sacredness of life. Divorce and marriage may be implements of the past, humans loving each other properly for the first time. The ancients built stone calendars to mark off the beginning of this phase of our evolution, the Mayans and others predicting it would begin and proceed after 2010-2012. The ancients talked about the return of Christ. The era of a new heaven, and a new earth. The Illuminati respects and pays adoration to the light bearer, the shining one – bringer of all knowledge, Prometheus if you will. All of these, in one form or another, are metaphorical cries in the dark – cries demanding this time arrive. Buckle up!

Makes me wonder if you've read "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov. If not, I think you'd really enjoy it. It really kind of parallels with this in ways. It's only 18 pages long, check it out. Best short story I've ever read, I believe. https://templatetraining.princeton.edu/sites/training/files/the_last_question_-_issac_asimov.pdf

Man is not the master of his destiny and cannot be so for all his motivations point to the fundamental truth of his existence, that the species like many other countless ones, is bound by the chains of Suffering.
