Hell yea! You must be super stoked! when do you get delivery? I have to travel to the states this month so I'm postponing purchasing mine until I get back from the states.

I've been wanting one for years, but I know if I get one I won't ever use it and it will just gather dust. I lack too much energy to do complex projects. Also the filament costs seem like they would be a bit much for larger things like cases.

This Mushroom Lamp is definitely on that list: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2704660
Looks cool, even better would be to try and combine the design with stereographic projection mapping. There's quite a few examples around.

Very cool!
There is a downside to using PLA filament for lamps, it had a low melting point so u can only use low watt LED bulbs. Oh wellz.
My 3D is almost ready. My kit was lacking one limit switch and i had to order a pack. It should be here next week, then i can finally start using it.

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait to get a 3D printer, was going to order mine when I got back from my work trip, but the laptop I use broke so I had to get a new one Hopefully in a few months will be able to cop a 3D printer.

Oh damn that's no good haha. Hopefully it gets there soon, I think there's a bunch of stuff that's not making it over from China right now with the coronavirus and all.

When you get to that one's limits get a Creality CR-10. I have the CR-10S, and for the money it is one of the best printers you can get. It has an enormous print area (300mx300mmx400mm), and is upgradable if you want to print using smaller, or larger extruder nozzels (<.4mm, >.8mm).
You can start with Tinkercad, but I say it's better to jump straight to Fusion360, it takes longer to learn, but you can make anything in that tool from simulate-able engines to houses. F360 is also free as long as you're not making 100k+ a year.

Great advice!
An update for my printer:
This weekend, i finally finished with building the printer. Apparently the seller i bought from in China bailed out or something so a week ago i ordered a similar part (limit switch) from a US seller. And just this last weekend, i installed the limit switch with some modifying to an acrylic mounting part. Then wired the printer up to the power supply-controller and it works!
Took awhile to figure out why it kept messing up during the "auto home" test sequence on the controller. Had to shut off the power multiple times to prevent damaging the motors/parts (theres no "cancel" button). With some wire switching, i fixed the issue. My printer acts like a robot! Its so crazy. Tried to take pics of it but my phones camera was being stupid.
Im excited to finish the calibration step and move on to printing

Finally making some good progress. I figured out how to connect my 3D printer to my PC with a USB cord (don't ask me how I did it).
Its a really cool feeling to control a robot-like device like a 3D printer using your PC. Its almost like magic:

Right now, Im trying to calibrate "dead-center".
