Spawning bulk to coir in monotub. Just coir or should I add vermiculite as well? Pros and cons

The title basically says it all. This is my first grow and my quart jars are fully conized and ready to spawn in a monotub. Should i just use coir, or coir and verm as my bulk substate? Any pros vs cons? What is the purpose of adding vermiculite? Thanks!

They’re both mostly just for water retention I’m pretty sure.
I’ve done a bunch of coir and coir verm mix grows and not noticed a difference. If you have the verm you might as well throw it in, it can’t hurt and might help some that I just haven’t noticed.

I use coir, verm, and manure compost.

I'm curious about this as well. Before i came across Shroomery, I was gathering up the materials for the PF tek, however, soon after gathering allot of the stuff needed, I learned about bulk, and dove in head first. So now I have a few bags of these each stored away in a closet. Does the verm add any benefit when added to coir for tubs? I won't be buying it again regardless, as I like the ease of using strait coir, but wouldn't mind clearing out the space if it'll help my grow.

A.k.a.is right. Its moisture retention. I also add lime to buffer for multiple flushes

I don't have issues with moisture retention in shoe-boxes. Aside from a dunking in between flushes, it's virtually set and forget. Are there any other benefits to adding vermiculite to coir for a bulk grow? Will The yield be any higher per volume?
