So one could use these polypropylene petris for poured plates as well, and get around the wasted plastic issue, right?

They are PP5 and totally reusable 😎👍
They are promoted as substitute for glass petris.

I can see that for sure... this is my first big adventure past PastyPlates and wanted to get away from as many ongoing expenses on the front end of my setup. This does work good for me as I am small time but would hot pour plates if I had a tons to do.

The condensation is about the same for almost any no pour so it's def humid on the lids (not horrible) and that's why I do the wipe with the paper towel after they cool. Out of my first 30 plates I had 2 that had a couple of drips of water on the agar.
TEK UPDATE
ANIMATED GIFS WERE ADDED FOR WIPING LIDS
STILL NEED A GIF FOR BAGGING THE PLATES... COMING SOON

So how do you go about reusing them? Sterilize? Run a pressure cooker cycle then repour?

Since I do a "no pour" tek when I'm done with them I just do a quick soap wash, rinse, and dry, fill with fresh agar, PC, use, repeat.
I have never done a regular pour tek so I will let CRONICR answer for that procedure.

I had an order of 24 of these PP5 petris arrive yesterday. I poured agar into 13 of them and transferred wedges to a couple of them. I had some observations that might be helpful to somebody else considering trying them out.
First of all, I was a bit surprised to see they arrive individually sealed in small plastic bags. That could be seen as a positive or a negative thing, I guess, but it's a bit more of a hassle than wiping down one long sleeve with iso, and making one scalpel slice to open them up.
Not a surprise, but they are significantly less clear than polystyrene petris. I also noticed they are slightly larger in diameter than the "100 mm" petris that I have been using.

This may have been mentioned earlier in the thread, but the sides of the lid comes down a lot farther over the bottom plate than on the petris I'm used to. The negative consequence of this is that I had a significantly harder time picking them up in one hand without lifting the lid inadvertently. This is because my fingers aren't making contact with the sides of the bottom plate--lifting just one dish works okay because I can squeeze the sides enough to pinch the bottom plate, but the taller the stack gets that harder it is to lift. Possibly could be solved by having a single lid on the bottom of a stack to just serve as a platform.

Another flaw is that the ring on top of the lid that facilitates stacking without tipping is lower profile than I'm used to. As a consequence, stacks are a lot more tenuous.
Finally, cling wrap doesn't stick to this plastic much at all, so you have to have your wrap pretty much all the away around before it starts to feel secure. A bit trickier to wrap but not impossible.
I'm going to keep trying to work with them because I like the idea of wasting less plastic (I do care about plastic waste, though less than my wife does, and anything I can do to avoid her getting annoyed with the hobby is probably worth the effort).
When it comes time to sterlize, I'm planning on doing so in a filter patch bag as cronicr recommends, and am hoping that just folding the bag and sealing with a binder clip will work?
Thanks for the heads up on these Yogi!

I agree that they are not as clear as the normal petris for sure and I've been researching on different agar recipes to help with this very issues. I was using Stamets MEA mix and ditched it yesterday because it was too mucky. I don't wrap them so I didn't know about the sticking issue. Thanks for the heads up no that. I can add that to the tek on the next update.
The recipe that I'm going to use next is...
10g LME (light malt extract) 10g agar (telephone) 500ml of water
The picts I seen of these mixes are just about perfectly clear and should help get the best visibability from these plates.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26440317#26440317
When I confirm this reciepe does indeed work I will update this tek to reflect the new mix 👍👍👍

That's pretty close to the recipe I use except less LME (8g). I don't think the clarity issue is all that bad, a lot better visibility than other no pour containers, right?
Edit: My biggest issue is picking them up in stacks inside a SAB... Just going to take some practice or some new tricks. I know you don't have to worry about that with your hood.

Gotchya. You pour guys with SABs have my sympathy 💔🆘❗️
Yes. As much as I dig Pasty's plates as a first step as a beginner I'm more comfortable with a full on clear lid to see what's happening. Guys like Pasty can probably wave their hand over plates to see if they are contaminated 🤣 Sadly... I'm not there yet. 🥺
I will be getting media bottles before too long when I'm going full on but right now it's all experiments and don't need tons of plates.
It's funny how the whole mycology community can be affected by such a simple design difference as the height of the lid. I did wonder that myself when I got them but didn't blink since I'm using them like I am.
And why don't you have a FH young man? 🥰

Man, it's a matter of space not cost! We have a very small house (which I actually really love) so my operation is confined to a shelf in a closet and I put the SAB on a kitchen counter when working. If I had a room (or walk-in closet) I could dedicate I would start building a hood in a second!

I totally understand that. I divorced my wife a couple months ago and living with a friend in a spare bedroom so I get cramped.
I put my hood under a table and pull it out when needed.
It's my NO-SEE-UM FH 🤣

OK, so one more update. 100% of the first batch of PP5 petris went bacterial. Could be my shitty technique or maybe they didn't come sterile even though they were sealed. I'm going to PC them and try again.

I bought a bunch of these plates and eventually trashed them because they are too short at 11mm vs 15mm being standard height. This shortness makes them get more condensation on the lids when they cool and also the mycelium can end up growing right against the lid make it do weird things. You have to be more careful to pour just the right amount to keep the height down. Plus the visibility really is bad compared to a normal petri.
