Isolating a strain of tampanensis * 1
    #26418466 - 01/05/20 09:56 PM (4 years, 23 days ago)

I'm not sure if this is advance mycology but I hope it is.  My plan is to isolate a consistent big fruiter of tampanensis that gives a good canopy, good stone producer, and somewhat potent.  Kind of like how the strain PE was isolated.

A while back I took a clone of one of my bigger fruits of tamps (like 6 inches and nice cap).  The one on the left.

It's a great stone producer. Yes, I know, a clone from a fruit is a great stone producer?  But yeah...it is.

The only thing is, so far, they are not really giving me what I thought a clone would put out.    I didn't really take the best, earliest fruit as my clone for my plan though.

I'm thinking of starting back with multi-genetic spores and taking the best clone from the beginning.

Is there any reason why I should disregard my first instinct and just go with the clone-1 spore print limited genetics and hope the next batch from that can be salvaged and continue to isolate?

I asked this same question in the general cultivation forum but I hope it's ok to ask it here as well.

If you were getting good flushes before and it seems  to have gone down then I'd try a new strain.

Honestly you'd do best by isolating a bunch of strains at the same time and fruiting them all.

Yep.

When you tissue cultured the large fruit, was there a few different sectors on  agar?

No.  It was pretty uniform.

I think I'm going to go back to original genetics and pick a few of the best to try.  Thanks for all the advice guys.
