Soaking up metabolites

So I’ve been researching a few methods for reducing metabolites while fruiting. I wanted to see what the current school of thought was for carefully soaking them up with a paper towel? Strictly hypothetical here.

Edit - spelling

The best way to reduce brown metabolites while fruiting is to have clean spawn.
Generally metabolites especially darkening ones mean it’s trying to fight something and often contain antifungal or antibacterial elements for the battle.

Thanks so much for the help help! Once it’s already present on the surface of my substrate is it better to leave it be or to try and remove the amber liquid with a paper towel or syringe?
