Very good point. They wanted to be sneaky, without regard for civilian casualties.

Buuuut

It was a response to US’s equally sneaky drone strike in Iraq. There was just less risk because the US military is better equipped and better trained. The risk was still there though...

End of the day, he's dead and so is the leader of the PMF.
I don't like to say it but I think the U.S. can call this round a win.

It’s also likely that the trip had a more lethal purpose. In mid-October, Soleimani secretly met with Shiite militia leaders to coordinate attacks against the US in hopes of triggering a US reprisal that would refocus public anger from Iran to the US,Reuters reported on Friday.
Soleimani delegated this campaign to Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces and the commander of the Kataib Hezbollah militia.

It’s obvious what Soleimani was doing there - people were protesting around the US embassy. If you’ve ever been to a major protest (not a fucking scheduled March but a real protest), you know how much chaos is involved. Soleimani saw a perfect way to fuck with the Americans - rile up the civilians, instigate the embassy security, have an undercover agent throw the first Molotov cocktail, etc.

Soleimani must be an ASOFAI fan who knows that

If you want to impeach every US President that lies, we wouldn't ever have a President in Office.

Obama lied all the time as well, where is your equal outrage?

Obama is a piece of shit. Any president who supports the Patriot Act is a piece of shit.

Obama didn’t lie all the time. Even conservatives know this, because every time you ask what Obama lied about they always say the same thing.

There is no comparison between Obama and trump. Or trump and almost anyone else.

Agreed. And the goal of justifying Trump's douchiness with Obama's douchiness has failed.

it gives no momentary gratification away. But, if you get into it, the plot payoffs are top-notch.

Also, the show is about boobs and dragons. The book is about politics.

I had HBO for the first four years it was on and only watched it a couple times. It seemed like they were using tits as a substitute for scripts and acting. I might be wrong. I didn't give it much of a chance. The Vikings was better.

Seasons 1-6 are some of the best-written pieces of TV ever. The dialogue, the story line, the characters - all unmatched.

Then, the writers ran out of book material to steal from and TRAINWRECKED seasons 7-8.

Google “bad writers”, click on images, and you’ll see the 2 dickheads who should spend their life in Guantanamo for what they did!! Fucking dickheads don’t know what character arcs even are, obviously. Oh yeah, just build up characters over 7 seasons to have them do completely out-of-character shit in the 8th. Build up a villain for 10 years, give him an army bigger than anyone else’s, only to kill him off in one episode. FFS!!!

Sorry, sorry people, the wound is still fresh.

Wanted to quote a traditional story about a Zen master cooking a potatoe
but google comes up with a bunch of ridiculous Zen guides to cooking
and am too lazy to go grab the book and transcribe it

but, in short form,
King sends someone to the mountains to retrieve a Zen master; Zen master is too busy cooking a potatoe to be bothered with the King
