Not really, I don't think. Of I understand how sequencing works, which I barely do, there's sections of the DNA that will differ. And I'm trying to understand how many and to which extent the sections of DNA are different. Because if they are different, understanding that, and the similarities between others, will help you understand where it fits in the tree. Correct? And Alan even offered to send the file for those interested. I'm interested mainly because I not only want to see Alan's interpretation of the data, but I would like to myself, as a good researcher does.
At this point based on what I know, of it is different, which it must be, it probably isn't much different, and like the tree suggest cubensis are a production of natalensis. Which would make hybridizing them with a cube very easy, as it's not as much of a hybrid as it is a backcrossing.

Which classification did Alan get wrong? I don’t care about Guzman or Stamets getting a mushroom wrong, they did that shit all the time. As far as I know Alan is pretty much the gold standard for sequencing and classification.
He’s also a mod here, does that make him more believable in that smooth brain of yours?
Your still here? You won't know if he got any wrong for another decade or two, but you'd hope with all the equipment they have now compared to the 90s he doesn't get any wrong lol! Idk about a gold standard, maybe in the psychadelic community, and here. Anyone can buy testing equiptment, anyone can hire someone to use it, and one can do research.
I'm still trying to figure out where Alan went to school, hoping he has at least 6 years of school behind him, which I assume he does, but would definetly like a better understanding of this "gold standard man" of which you speak.
:
And no, this is just another internet site. That's the problem, and your part of it clearly. Why should we listent to Alan more than anyone else? Cause he has a Shroomery account? Lul

You truly are unique QM. Somehow your arguments have so many holes and idiocies that it’s literally impossible to debate you because no one has any idea where to start.
And yeah, you’re right, I should get out of here. I’ll see your stupid shit later. Good day sir

Now Alan can you send the files or at least say how they're different?
And also I don't feel I should have to download anything to have to be able to see a demonstration between the differences of these two mushrooms. Where's the puclic record? Of this is such a unique occurances, where's the data?????? Let's see it.
And walee don't come back until you got a link for the compound differences between the nats and cubes.

That does help I guess. Oddly enough I clicked that same link this morning and it didn't pull up the bottom section of text on its entirety. So idk wtf happened. But he's I think that's what I need.
All those jumbles of letters need to be compared to other jumbles of number and deciphered. If anyone wants to tell me why that's wrong ide appreciate it.
I don't know much about genetics, but understanding the differences could tell you alot about it's relation to other similar spec8es.

I took 5g fresh Mex A strain about the same time. I've been riding a big fluffy cloud all morning.
Enjoy the glow!

Can I get some feedback on my first germ plates from swabs? The agar thread says contam, but what I see here makes me think maybe fluffy mycelium. I’d love a perspective from the Nat community. The last one definitely has a mold spot, but is the rest of this mycelium?

The first two on the swab look like mycelium, expect that little spot. The last one is trich colonies and some other mold as well.

Thanks! I’ll transfer from the swab plates to clean plates later tonight. That was my interpretation initially but as a noob, and first time Nat grower, I really needed a more experienced set of eyes.

Yeah the first two just look to have a bit of bacteria but not in the mycelium so I’d take a few transfers asap and see what happens.
