Let us know how that thick top layer works out. I top layered all of mine with one of them an inch or so thick. 1 I cased with Jiffy at spawn, trying a lot of different things.
EDIT - My oat g2g jars are exploding. Likely to have colonization in 5-6 days. Might have to prep another 10 qts.

I have no idea how old this is it has to be at least 2 months since it started producing. Once you get full colonization there's no stopping it. I've flipped this thing up and down, dunked, misted, in and out of a GH back in a SB and its still kicking. Can't wait to inoculate the fuck outta some outdoor grows when it warms up a bit. I bet I can get these growing all over my mulch.

Old AF and the fruits still look healthy.

Joining in on the fun. All plates germinated, one has contaminated but have 4 other plates to transfer from.

What was your ratio and did you case or top layer?

Did you ever send your sample into Alan grim?
Also my only tub that I have which happens to be Natalensis just put out what I’m gonna ssume is it’s very last fruit. Tubs completely green but with the green bruising on the fruits it could even be that

This shoebox May have pins and fruits but it’s infested with mycogyne (wet bubble) contamination. Isolate anything that looks like that from your primary growing area and clean the growing area where it was. That stuff can spread in your growing area and it will greatly reduce yields.

Yeah and what Psilo said. Clean everything really well. I had that in cakes a long time ago. It's a bitch to clean up. Probably best to scrub with bleach and send all those prints to me. Haha

@jbgtaa - Yes, Alan has samples.
@Psilo - You may be right, if it were that simple I'd be pleased. Did you see what bod linked on page 2?
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25285598
My last tub (pictured above) is still putting out fruits 4-5 flushes I lost count. If the blobs were a contaminant I would think I'd have it some other current grows, the Natal tubs are the only ones that have it. I will be starting from spores again though. Whatever it is I'm stuck with it in this culture and could definitely be performing better.

I’m starting an lc today.
When this print showed up I fast tracked it to the front of the line lol.
The germ plate and t1 are growing pretty fast.

If I have wet bubble or mycogone I almost welcome it. Whatever is going on it simply can't contaminate. This species/variety is known for its "pillowey" myc - maybe thats what my culture has maybe not but whatever it is is out competes any molds or trich. Yields could be better but I have to be at 8-10 weeks since first fruits on a shoebox and its pinning again with no sign of contamination.

I apologize if I gave bad advice there. It does resemble wet bubble but it could just be odd mycelium. When I grow golden halo it often does a weird overlay thing...

If these aren't Cubes, and they consistently behave as this thread suggests, they may just become the new Cubes

Thought I might as well post some pictures since I’m in here commenting. First up - big thank you to Zifozonke for sharing a print. Second, when I print some (my next tub) I will be sharing! Third, here is T1 from the original MS inoculation plate. Very nice vigorous growth early on.

I wanted to just try these out so I did a shoe box without even the normal amount of spawn / substrate here. Just 1 “mycoquart” and about two quarts of coir. The overall substrate is only about 2 inches thick here:
The caps were very pale ... starting off a light yellow tan / buff white then going blue grey on maturity. My guess is if they dried they would be white as I have seen in photos of field specimens. The stipes were brilliant satiny white. Overall a very pretty Mushroom. I noted no veil remnants / persistent annulus on any mature fruits. Rare on Cubensis but not unheard of. I too noted an unusual gill attachment - but failed to take a picture
I took a clone of one of the larger fruits in a cluster here and that is now on grains... for transfer to a spawn bag for a proper tub full of prints.
One last thing... failed to mention immediate and very intense bluing reaction then the stipe is cut at the base for harvesting.

The advice is warranted psilo. Your grow description matches mine perfectly all except for the blobby overlay/contaminant. If I could only control it enough that it wouldn't take up so much surface real estate it would be a effective microclimate.
Here's my dinosaur SB. Its flushed so many times its 60-70% its original size and still producing.

Definitely looks like a Cube relative. But doesn't look like a true cube. What do the spores look like under a scope?
