Not only that, but the print I originally received from zifozonke was labeled as p. Cubensis var. Natal super strain. But I am pretty convinced that it is not Cubensis, and is natalensis.

Whyyyyyyyyy?! I feel like this happens over and over in mycology. Mislabeling and naming drives me nuts. Recently I encountered someone who had a print called, "Rusty Albino" which I assume was a mislabeled RustyWhyte. They had all kinds of other weird varieties too that I've never *ever* heard of. I suspect they just renamed stuff to make it sound cooler.

lol yep. Two species and prints that could be labeled as either one. You prob have an older print cuz originally they didn’t think it was anything but cube. Then as it got grown more turned into a debate.
Idk about you guys, especially the ones pulling canopy tubs, but my cultures are very obviously abnormal as soon as they germinate all the way through fruiting.
I know I’ve seen people that definitely have natalensis post pictures of more normal looking plates and sub colonization too though. I think the ones I have that came from grim originally are a more extreme lineage.
At least the sequencing came through so we can start unpacking all this shit.

As far as the effects go, do you think they retain their differences to cubes when processed into tea or lemon juice?

Idk yet, I was gonna lemon tek some at some point this weekend. In my limited experience though lemon tek has proven to increase visuals and limit the body load for me with cubes. So I'm wondering if that'll be the same for the nats. I've gotten bad stomach pain both times I've eaten them, I just think my body really hates mushrooms. Still haven't tried pans
And as for the naming, gotta love unregulated black markets and especially this one where there's little to no accountability. Vendors can name whatever th

I got a print from you AKA and growth was seriously ropey from the get go. Never had another culture go straight rhizo from germ.
Gonna put some to grain soon. Did anyone establish solid fruiting parameters for it or is treating it like a cube the best way?

I think it's basically same parameters as cubes but more fae. Or at least that's how I intend to run mine and I'm gonna spawn them tomorrow or Saturday.

Well if that's what you can get by treating them like a cube, then that'll do.
@My_cunt what spawn ratio you gonna use dude?

I was just thinking about that actually lol. I ran 1:1 last time but was super disappointed in the results. It overlayed really bad, and I got maybe 30 decent sized fruits, so far from a success.
I currently have 4 jars that have looked good and are rebounding from a shake. I was thinking about spawning them at 1:2 and 1:3 with manure/straw since there's been some success with that substrate, idk about ratios though.

Interesting, well its just as good to know what doesn't work for people. I'll try with less spawn. I normally use 3 quarts per brick with cubes so I'll start there.
Look forward to seeing what you get.

3 quarts per brick seens petty low. I say go for it. Others are saying 1to 8 could be a good spawn rate. But I'm just getting started with this one so don't take my word for it. Just got germination a few days ago.

I’ve seemed to have better results with manure and half a quart of spawn to a shoebox, but still nothing I would consider a decent grow. Based on what I’ve seen a couple times with old spawn jars I think letting it consolidate at some point will help. My next experiment is gonna be keeping it in colonization for like 5 days after it hits 100%.
There seems to be no patterns involved for success or failure either which makes me think myc selection could be huge like with pans.
I just took t1s but this time went for the opposite type of myc I took the first time. For me my plates always have really thick myc like if you sliced the culture off four normal plates and stacked them up. I can see different layers of myc fingers.

We've talked about it but I'll mention it again for those that haven't read it but these jars I'm gonna spawn are from straight tomentose growth.
I also did some transfers last night for lagm with the same mindset.
And to answer the question about colonization I think it's pretty on par with cubes. If you're hunting rhizomorphs then it moves quicker but it seems that the rhizos fan out and fuse together to create overlay, or in some cases it can.

We're gonna find the strain that eats through the liner AND the tub and starts taking over the streets like Kudzu vines.
