I just dumped spores to a 3 liter lc jar, theres a lot of rhizomorphic growth on the surface and grains bags looked very rhizomorphic

I think theres still something left on the print I bought, if someone wants to trade a swab, I need some t.a.t genetics

I did make some bags with both supposed nss and kape spores but Im quite sure these are not from
Those bags

Received some prints about a week ago from a fellow member here . Cooked up some jars and hoping to go bulk with mono.

I got you sock shoot me an address if you still need one.

I finally went back to spores and it’s good to see they still make beautiful germ plates.

I’ve got a jar of a clone about ready to go as well. I’m gonna take a bunch of different myc off the spore plate this time since whatever I did before didn’t do well.

Just got excited about this species reading this thread after seeing what Myc_Hunt posted in the Cult Pic of the Day thread about Nats. I love seeing all the awesome exotics that are around, so many I haven't heard of! I saw something about these a few months ago but thought they were just some kind of cube called natalensis. Glad I was mistaken and took the time to read up on them. Are most of you guys growing these in monos like cubes?

Is it perhaps beneficial to go for a very low spawn:sub ratio since this is such an aggressive mycelium? Im talking anything between 1:6 and 1:12.

Man I need to get on this train. I am slowly working up my courage to start trading prints and cultures(of non-actives) in the marketplace.

People really give out their address without worrying the DEA is gonna show up on their doorstep huh?

Its always a gamble, but there is nothing wrong with looking at spores under your microscope.

Just read through this whole thread!

What a challenging adventure.

Props to everyone undertaking the cultivation here.

For some reason I feel that with a higher altitude strain it would want more FAE because IME growing cannabis, C02 is always lower at higher altitudes. Im inclined to think that if you have less FAE co2 would build up to higher concentrations, bringing you further away from it's higher altitude climate.

Just thinking out loud here.

I just got some APE and pe6 to LC, but as I repeatedly read peoples positive experiences with these I'm drawn to giving these a go sometime.

Idk about c02 but I think there’s less oxygen at high altitude, that’s why athletes train in the mountains.

AKA your right in a certain regard, but to be more accurate it's actually the barometric pressure that decreases as elevation increases, so there are less molecules, but the oxygen % stays relatively the same regardless. 21% oxygen.

I have yet to put a co2 meter in a tub but in my old house about 1400ft above sea level the co2 was around 400 PPM, and in my warehouse at about 100 ft above sea level it was 650 PPM.

Co2 "sinks" as it is heavier than nitrogen and oxygen. I just know that fungi produce co2 and if your limiting FAE, co2 is increasing, which may not be what this particular variety evolved around or perhaps has some contributing effect to the dense overlay. I wouldnt be suprised if the co2 in a plugged tub is reaching 2000 PPM.

Considering that you may be at a lower elevation than where Nats grow. Limiting co2 might be a factor to consider, instead of trying to limit oxygen.

Aloha Medicinals specializes in cordyceps and afaik they took barometric pressure into consideration upon their quest to grow the best.

Btw I've been blown away by it eating through your liner.. what kind of liner are you using?

Props for your efforts! I've been watching!

CO2 doesn't really sink, tho. I know you put "sink" in quotations, so I'll just clear it up for others around here because this is a common misconception.

You can think of mixing gasses of different densities as being similar to mixing syrup into water. The sugar is more dense than the water so it is initially at the bottom. If left undisturbed, it will eventually homogenize itself on its own. Of course this is sped up if you stir it. One it is dissolved it will never sink back to the bottom.

Same with gasses. Once they are mixed, they won't settle back out.

With growing mushrooms in containers, CO2 is concentrated at the bottom near fruits, not because of density, but because that is where the co2 is produced, and since the air is stagnant (in low FAE situations) it just stays there.

Similarly, outside, co2 is more concentrated at lower altitudes because that is where the co2 sources (burning fossil fuels, respiration, etc) and the co2 sinks (photosynthesizing organisms and the oceans) are located.  The co2 concentration gradient only exists in the lower atmosphere. The upper atmosphere is quite homogeneous.

Please note that my analogy with liquids is only an analogy and happens due to other forces than in air.

Perhaps HillBilly can change the title of this tread. It threw me off, I think it was the reason I was under the impression natalensis was a cube.
