Going to spawn my first nats in a couple weeks so want to make sure I have the cultivation stuff right:
You want more sub per spawn than cubes. This part makes me nervous, as I like 1:1ish ratios for worries about bacteria. I assume 1:3 is the lowest you'd really want to go with nats?
Once the sub is fully colonized, give it a lot of FAE. I assume this means more frequent misting as well.
Eat the fuckin overlay. Sounds like it's as potent as fruit, so put it into capsules, make tea out of it, whatever.
Spread the love with spore prints. I am a bit nervous about shipping but definitely Way, SPG, Trypt, etc. let me know if you want any.
Anything I'm missing or getting wrong?
(sorry for the repost, didn’t get anything earlier)

Spawn to sub ratio is exactly the same as cubes. The lowest I go with nats is 1:4. With great spawn, have no fear all the way to 1:7.
I’ve never had overlay since I got a print from JW123 and mine started off amazing. If you get overlay, it’s honestly probably easier to just get a more stabilized print from one of us.
I don’t ever mist in tall shoe boxes. If you provide more fae, they’ll grow much faster. This is where a high ratio of coir comes in handy. If you’re growing 1:6, you still won’t really need to mist even with a good amount of fae, but don’t feel bad about neglecting them. Nats will take it because they don’t give a fuck.

NattyOrNice said: Hey everyone check it out!!
I massaged/shook the grains yesterday and the mycelium is bouncing back strong!!
It's been 24hours, I'm going to let it sit another day, or two?
Then mix with the substrate layer!!
Woohoo!!
The temperature in my room was low at the beginning and it took a long time to show any growth now it's taking off!!
I'm super excited!!
I got the MSS syringe from one of the vendors here, it's labeled "p.natalensis aka blue meanies"
I'm sure you all know the one I'm talking about.
I just wanted the p.natalensis!
I didn't know any better!
=]
Why do the call it blue meanies???
I don't get it.
If I wanted pans I woulda bought pans, ya know?
I'll post some more pics when it's fully colonized!
Woohoo!!

Hopefully you all can see it in the pictures!!
My camera is super shitty and there is a glare on the bag, but it's bouncing back strong!!

Hey what is the point of higher ratio? Spawn to sub??
My bags a 5lbs back 2 lbs grain 3lbs substrate.
Is there any benefits to higher ratios?
More nutrients?
Bigger flushes??
If your Nats were labled as "Blue Meanies" then they are miss labled. Blue Meanies refers to Pan Cyan, Although there is now also a Cube Variety called Blue Meanie also.
Oh and the name comes from how dark blue they bruise.

Its an AIO bag. Everything should be sterile except whatever nastiness you injected into it. I wouldn’t let the myc get strong again just to piss it off again. If it were my bag, I would blend everything homogenous right now and then forget it exists for a couple weeks. A higher ratio provides more water to the fruiting bodies, which results in larger shrooms, fewer flushes, less misting and less side pins from sub shrinkage.

The biggest mistake people make when starting this hobby is too much. Too much misting too much mixing and just too much attention in general. You did your work now give them a comfortable environment and let them do theirs.

I noticed this with getting second flushes. I was so crazy and paranoid about my first ones, and then once I had some I was like fuck it. Didn’t really harvest well so the substrate was kinda fucked up, didn’t rehydrate properly probably but just did what I could without thinking about it much. All the tubs were from baccy spawn. And then still, with almost no work on my part, they started pushing out more fruits.

With any luck my AIO will grow at least 1 mushroom to clone.
That's how I got started too, don't feel bad. The AIOs have great SEO.
While your AIO is growing you have plenty of time to do more research, buy some tools, and capitalize on whatever fruit you get.
The journal in my sig may help explain a few things.

Making your own AIO jars or bags is easy and efficient. There have been a lot of great growers that use them. Look up Sandman420, Asura, even Angam's grain free bags all produce! Biggest thing IMHO is using enough clean agar/LC/LI to get the bags going.
You can definitely grow Nats with AIO, they will eat anything. Don't turn your back on them! 😀
