Honestly I think it may need the evaporation to start pinning in the first place. You could wait for now, but if it seems like it should be pinning and isn't, give it some more FAE.
It's looking quite nice though. I think you'll have success.
BTW I think you mixed up the amounts of spawn and sub in your post. 3Q grain spawn, right?

my marshmallow tub is fluffing up again

pulled apart the tumor tub. 139g wet -> 11g dry. the tissue was more dense than the mallows. not sure if i'll eat them, but degenerate curiosity may win out.

and an old tub went into a grow tent with the lights on full to see what would happen. it has responded poorly.

I just sent these to grain.

This old transfer plate is crazy looking. I've never had a culture do this.

Here is what I got so far. P. Natalensis lc from fulsndorganix vs. 6lb aio bag. Will I have to harvest the fluff for it to pin? The fluff has already eaten a small shroom or two. Any advice? I have a small aqua pump for fae

In terms of allowing increased FAE for shoeboxes, is it just a matter of cracking the lid more and then increasing misting as needed to maintain surface conditions? Ambient humidity where I am ranges from around 60-90% at this time of year in my sub-tropical climate.
Or is it a matter of setting up humidity chambers etc?

I feel like there are stages to increased FAE with a shoebox. From least to most FAE...
1 - Unlatch the lid 2 - Flip the lid over so the top is resting on the edges 3 - Flip the lid over and rotate so there are small gaps on each corner
Mist as needed to maintain surface conditions, but ideally find a balance of fresh air to where you aren't having to mist.
Good luck.

With my nats I unlatched the lid and propped one side up on one of the latches if that makes sense. I misted occasionally as needed. They seemed to have plenty of fresh air that way.

Couple questions. Are yall casing at all after psuedocasing is colonized?
When do yall introduce “more than cube normal” FAE? I’m trying to determine when I should remove a layer of MP from my holes.

I just tried casing after the top layer was colonized. I know they don't need it and I never cased them before but I wanted to see if it changes anything. Still waiting for results.

Is this contamination or damage/dead? If dead, should I harvest now? I have this wonderbag on its 3rd flush. 2 weeks since cleaning the block after the 2nd. Each flush had a lot of overlay (which is more potent than I expected….) This bag got chilled to below 60 degrees for a day or two and then this browning appeared.

From what I’ve seen with natal overlay turning colors I believe it’s a reaction to contam. However I wouldn’t throw it out until actual mold shows up. I’ve had a lot of tubs get all kinds of colors on the overlay and last weeks.
That said the cake is looking pretty spent so I wouldn’t expect a ton more out of it.

I've noticed Nats push out metabolites regardless to be honest.
I have Nats tubs currently that I spawned wet and higher substrate ratio, they're all currently showing gold metabolites on the surface but the spawn was all clean.

My 60 qt EZ-DIAL S2B on 10-15 so about 18 days and I'm just starting to see pins popping up. Ratio 1:6. 3 qt spawn : 18 qt sub P9 style.
Edit. Since I last posted here asking about increasing FAE. I have flipped the lid and put little spacers to lift it up some. Seems to be working fine. Surface conditions still look good as far as I can tell.
