Oh interesting... How do you decide when to harvest then?

Wow.
I picked my first fruits a couple of days back to do a bit of cloning and take some spore prints.  There weren't many, but I put them in the dehydrator on Thursday afternoon rather than waiting for more.

There was just over 4g dry when I took them out yesterday afternoon. I powdered them and mixed with an equal volume of chocolate.  At first I thought I'd need to add more chocolate to help with the taste, but the taste of these beauties is far less oppressive.

I usually need 4g of cubes to get a buzz, so intended to eat the full 4g.  I'd not eaten since breakfast and thought "Why wait?"

Just before 6pm I ate 3/4 of the chocolate.  In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't go for it all.  I asked the shrooms to grant me insight into my early childhood, most of which I had no memory of.  I felt nothing for the first 45 mins, but then started to come up.  By half 7 they hit hard.  Very hard.

For 3 hours solid I explored the deep recesses of my mind.  I won't go into detail (this isn't supposed to be a trip report), but there were a lot of tears and a lot of pain.  Cathartic doesn't do it justice. I had no nausea whatsoever and the shrooms gave me short periods of respite before inviting me back for more.

Nats are awesome.  They hit hard, but there's a lightness and clarity to them. I've got about 500g of dried cubes in jars, but honestly think I'll end up throwing them away after trying nats.

I went to bed at about 11pm, slept well, but woke at 5 with a bit of a hangover and a very sore jaw.  It's now 9, I've been for a walk and feel total peace.

There's still 'work' to do, but I'm hoping my next trip will be recreational - I deserve it.

tl/dr Nats blow all the cubes I've tried out of the water in every way.  Taste, strength, and a clean hit.  If you've not tried them already, go for it. :mushroom2:

Welcome to the club. Nats rock. @ Aspect some cultures are just slower. I ran 5 shoeboxes of nats at the same time, 2 pinned in 2 weeks the other 3 took over three weeks.

Thanks for the report!

I think this is the only variety that I have seen gain such acclaim. Some people say, "I won't grow anything else." Never seen that sentiment for other kinds.

Yeah for me natal has the best trip emotionally, but visually pans are so far beyond any other shroom trip I’ve had.

Are semps more visual or spiritual?

They are everything. The universe itself contained in a little stick like creature, with god-like wisdom/kindness and circus-like spectacle creation abilities. Natalensis are great, but semperviva are the best mushroom I have ever tried by far. They go great together though! :vibin:

Finally had my first proper Natalensis trip last week. 6 grams dried, made a tea. I needed this trip.

2 weeks ago, during the SAME week I had:
  • My telephone wire ripped off my house by a tractor. Damaging the chimney it and also a bunch of slates of my 2 years old new roof.
  • 2 days later my house got broken in and robbed. We got some cash stolen, my wife’s jewelry stolen, my wedding ring stolen.

Timeline, counted after drinking the tea:
  • +20 mins: first effect felt. No nausea, no anxiety.
  • +30 mins: first light CEVs. Lied down, put headphones and eye mask.
  • +45 mins: proper CEVs. Trip started.

In the first phase a blanket of neon yellow and green cloud was put on me. It was soothing and reassuring. It calmed the feeling of anxiety and insecurity of having had intruders in my house.

The second phase was all about beauty. I saw weaving patterns and colors of indescribable beauty. I needed it, I needed to see beauty.

The third phase was about gratitude for my family. For having my wife and my sons with me. Experiencing being a family.

The fourth and last phase was scrambly. I stood up, realized I was high as fuck, the body load was quite incredible compared to other mushrooms. And then it dawned on me that my wedding ring was stolen, would never be recovered and I felt deeply sad about it. Realizing how much this object, this symbol of Love for my wife meant to me. I spent a good amount of time with tears in my eyes, wanting so bad to buy the exact same ring back.

The last thought that came to my mind was this quote from Seneca (I’ve read a lot of Stoicism this past year):
Quote:

“Remember that all we have is “on loan” from Fortune, which can reclaim it without our permission—indeed, without even advance notice. Thus, we should love all our dear ones, but always with the thought that we have no promise that we may keep them forever—nay, no promise even that we may keep them for long.”

The whole trip lasted maybe 3 and a half hours. Quite long compared to Semperviva.

I really enjoyed the vibe of this species. Natalensis is a kind, chilled and comforting mushroom.

:loveheart:

Good report Melgo! That is quite a lot to go through :frown: You deserve that good experience man, don't let the shortcomings run you down.

Now I am also curious about higher dose Natalensis :awesomenod:

Thank you my friend!

I don't think that's a high dose Nat for me. Last time I tried them, at 4 grams dried I barely had 30 minutes of visuals.

How much Semp/Nat do you take already when you mix them?
