I’ll let someone else make the call but I’m fairly certain that’s contam or reaction to contam. Last time someone posted something like that it wasn’t stones or what have you.

Couple quick questions before I go to grain and sub:
1: How much airflow do these guys really need? I'm running un-modded 6qt sterilite shoeboxes for my cubes and don't lift the life until harvest basically, or to transfer a couple at a time into a larger 66qt un-mod bin.
2: can i still go 1:1 for spawn and CVG, or do these guys like higher ratios like 1:2 spawn:sub?

My Nats tend to get fuzzy feet if they don't get enough FAE but I use unmod Purple handle shoeboxes and flipped lids is always more than enough FAE.
I would go at least 1:2 if not 1:3. Personally I do 1:2.5 with the .5 being pseudo casing.

I do 1:6 with cubes, but was planning to start at 1:4 for my first nat grow. Is 1:4 still too much?

Well since I’ve got your nats, I guess that’s what I’ll do too!

Yay! I can grow nats.
Didn't have my glasses on but thought I might have some pins here.

18 hours later:
 I guess those were pins
10 hours after that

and another tub starting

These are about 1:3 and in some left over liquefied poo mulch and coir mix I had from my stalled pan grow. Normally wouldn't have used that for the sub, but got lazy and lucky.

Given that you mostly put pins to grains. How long does it take you from the moment you transfer something to a plate to getting a pin?
I have a bunch of totally colonized plates and I'm wondering if they're ever going to make some pins

hey y'all, I don't follow this thread all that much so don't know if anyones documented anything like this, but wanted to share something. Last summer I dumped some natelensis spawn outside just on top of a chip bed, it put out a decent flush, and I never thought much of it. Its also a chip bed where there some ovoid and I was taking a peak at it today and what do you know, natelensis thats colonizing woodchips, or the rootmass underneath and that has overwintered in Oregon!
not saying its a good grow or anything, just surprised to see them survive. Ill have to experiment more on getting them to colonize wood and try and do a real patch.

Depends on the temperature, nutrient %, diameter and depth of your pour. These are 2% nutes, 100mm, very thin pour and took about 1.5mo, starting at 19°C and ending today at 29°C.
