Just a note, a "super noob" wouldn't know the acronyms like you do, wouldn't know

Thank you. The only reason it was successful is because of shroomery. It was a 66qt monotub grown with composted cow and horses manure mixed with cvg. I did a half inch psuedo casing of cvg. It is mss as I am a super noob. Spawn was 2 multi grain spawn bags. Thanks everyone for all the information you provide. 😊

Just fyi, if you were a super noob still, you wouldn't know these terms mss, cvg, and certainly not pseudocasing(and be able to accurately describe what you're talking about)

So congrats on graduating from super noob and welcome to being a cultivator.

Also that's a nice ass nat tub

Is that like 4th flush?

Yep, but the first flush was two shrooms and overlay filled to the brim.

These are definitely my biggest and the big one possibly my new favorite

I like that liner.  I've always trimmed mine, and it's always the biggest pain in the ass.  What size tub is that?

Glad my Nats don't overlay. 3 more shoeboxes about finished. Harvesting the 2 on left today, other should be ready tomorrow.

No I fruit them right in the Shoebox. If they get too tall I flip a second shoebox upside down over top. Spawned 1qt spawn to 2qt CV with another 1/2 qt CV pseudo casing.

I like the purple handled shoeboxes as you can adjust FAE fairly easily. From Latched lids on for least FAE, to unlatched to flipped lid with handles up then flipped lids with handles down for most FAE.

This was second flush of another tray.

Mines a shoebox, grocery bags fit perfectly and when they’re done you just tie them up and toss it.

So I was reading this site today and saw some research on Nat, NSS, and Nat rocks (the mycelium masses).

https://magicmyco.org/monthly-lab-reports

It's Pnat Study, Pnat Rocks, Pnat SS.  NSS/Nats seem to have very different active profiles.  Perhaps that's why some people love Nats, and others don't think they're so great?

If you've never grown mushrooms before, here's how you start.  First, follow the Updated PF Tek, put 4 holes in jar lids not 1, and use a water tub!
The next move is Shoebox Tek. After that you move onto grains, agar, monotubs.  Agar is easy, just do it.

Nice, thanks for answer!  Your spawn-substrate ratio is only 1:2 ? I thought that with Nats higher ratios were recommended , like 1:3  to 1:5 .

I tried a run with 1:4 first flush was about identical to 1:2 but got not much of a second with it. At 1:2 I usually get 3-4 good flushes with the nats.

I ran mine at 1:5 and got 3 good flushes and 5 or 6 weak flushes. I ended up getting over a pound off 5 myco-quarts, and one of those quarts triched out after 1 flush.

TBH I am sitting on so many actives I don't even really try with second flush anymore. I toss the shoeboxes back on the shelf and ignore them, if they don't fruit I don't care. Getting 1 1/2 - 2 oz dry per shoebox from each qt of spawn. Just harvested first flush of the 3 shoeboxes I posted a couple days ago. Ended up with 2 zips from the first 2. 3rd is in the dehydrator now.

Concentrating on edible/medicinal now. Don't even have any jars running for actives, so when these Nats finish I'm done for a while on actives.

Shop, I looked, but no dice?  I missed last round, will you be doing another giveaway on prints for these any time soon?
Trying to avoid overlay, and what you have sounds promising

Normal for nats to grow this way on agar? 1% LMEA

They seem to grow much differently than cubensis varities.

They’re not cubensis.

Those are actually pretty tame for natalensis, they like to go super rhizo and climb the lid.
