No I meant in that link Psilo posted they call it Psilocybe natalensis. I haven’t seen any of the Facebook stuff.
The paper has nothing to do with classification though just certain compounds in the mushroom.
They bought the natal super strength spores from the South African vendor to use for the study.

Also that, don't have Facebook so if he posted something important it'd be cool if someone would share it

I thought about joining that Facebook group to see it, but I really don't like my real name associated with that group. I don't care that it is "private" whatever that means in the Facebook world...

Alan didn't say much about it if I was looking at the correct post. Here's what he said

And here is the the picture which I think shows the cultivated specimens used in the study

Ah yeah that sucks. What he said is exactly what I didn’t like, they just bought spores from a random place.

That paper Alan is referencing is the one I linked on the previous page. For what it’s worth I’m pretty sure the vendor referenced is a friend of Zifozonke’s and the likely source of a lot of the genetics in this thread...

He was definitely the messiah of natalensis lol. Pretty sure some of his pics come up if you google it.
I just wish we’d get the species results already. It’s way too weird and difficult to be a cube imo but we need some definite answers!

Again, this research was conducted on SKU NSS-1 from the SA vendor. There is too much confusion between the Natal Super Strength (a cube) and the Natalensis. Looking forward to the DNA results

Has anyone experienced strange fruiting like this? It seems like for most of the fruit, caps are forming on their side, directly on the sub, with no stipe.

Ive had a couple caps grow randomly. Also had a bunch that grew normally (sideways for me), with stems but the caps stayed stuck to the sub when I harvested them.
Your surface looks really good though. My current theory is low spawn helps so let us know how the second flush goes. I’ve had a couple tubs do like PE does where they grow all stupid for a while and then put out normal mushrooms.
Aside from the green this is looking pretty good. Super thin manure sub with my clone.

Ok thanks for your reply! I'll definitely let you guys know how the second flush goes. It's going to be tricky to even know when the first flush is through if the mushrooms keep this current character These fruits are also really tiny, maybe 1 cm across maximum.

lol yeah I’ve never really had what I’d consider a flush yet, usually just end up harvesting a couple here and there every week for months.

He said it was in queue, maybe he will decide he's interested enough to figure out what it is. The paper posted though is just stuff, im sure they would have found similar results with cubensis or tampanensis. Most actives im sure do far more than brain work.

A natalensis culture from a transfer i made because it was incredibly fluffy and wanted to go airborne as opposed to being fluffy and dense (which i also made transfers of) hoping one of these weirder transfers leads to some good results. Also here’s those half pint rye jars of multispore natalensis:
This stuff is almost reaching the top of the petri dish it almost looks taller than it is wide.

Mychunt yours are from the ones I grew which came from grims print. So there’s the pedigree lol.
Got some decent ones off my manure clone.

Unfortunately one grew across the green patch so I’m gonna have to toss the top half.

Guess that’s another reason to paper towel those spots.
Also here’s a plate I made a few days ago of the pin clone culture. The tubs I have now were straight off the tissue plate. It’s hard to see but so far it’s got three types of growth. The whole right side is fluffy, 6-7 and 12 have flat rhizo which I’m gonna take next. Then the rest of the left side is real thick rhizo that looks like it’s got a few layers to it which is the type of growth I ran last time.
