In all fairness, my wife does have hairier arms than me, but thankfully she shaves that Italian turf.

I apologize if there is an obvious answer to this question and I should UTFSE! However, I figured the question is unique enough that it might not be spelled out in TEKs.
Can you pasteurize Hpoo TOO long?
Iβve got a Sous Vide working on my HPoo at 165 F (73.5 C) and Iβll be doing chores off and on throughout the day so I just set it to run for 12 hours. More than necessary - but can it hurt?
Thanking you in advance for sharing your experience and knowledge.
AFAIK , no. You can run it forever so long as the temp doesnβt get too high and wander into partial sterilization.
What happens when you wander into partial sterilization? Also why is sub pasteurized rather than sterilized?

Pasteurization leaves beneficial bacteria in the mix. But unnecessary with just coir.

the point is to leave the nutritious material colonized with bacteria to protect it. sterilization will leave it open to molds

So this is why people say they are blue meanies eh?

Are blue caps a good thing or a bad thing, I had no idea they would be blue.

Just passing through here as this is one of my favorite threads on the shroomery (some of you might still remember me). I worked quite a bit with Nats over the years, love them, but life happens and I can no longer embark on psychedelic journeys... for now.
Anyways, I still got an outdoor grow happening, using old spent substrate blocks and thought this might inspire someone to do the same. Don't throw spent cakes away if you want to make space for new projects. They can still produce quite a lot outdoors without the need of using tubs.
Below you'll see an old kiddies pool I used. I added about 2 inch of coir I still had around, then added the blocks and covered them with another inch of coir. The pool has a few draining holes in the bottom. I watered it whenever it looked a bit dry, keeping it moist. It didn't take long till I saw the first pins peaking throught the top layer of coir. Obviously one of the substrate blocks contamed, but the trichy spot doesn't seem to grow for now.
Here's a pic of the first flush I got. Some nice clusters.

First harvest yesterday:

Just before second harvest today (these grew insanely quick).

Temperatures are still fairly warm here with around 25 degrees Celsius during the day and 18 degrees Celsius during the night.
Grown in their home country, South Africa.
Keep on growing these awesome mushrooms .
