i Have a fair bit of experience with natalensis now and i have not seen this fuzzyness. might be genetics?
from my experience natalensis will fruit when they are ready , no matter what. even trichoderma won't stop them from fruiting ime.

Most of the Nats I've seen are small capped. I've only managed, so far, a few fruits from a seriously triched sb. For what it's worth mine were all small caps
