Also, @cozmyc, be careful what you wish for, my friend! These are quite tedious to harvest, I highly recommend cutting them out.
Yeah I use double bend scissors to cut mine out. The fruit themselves, are like trying to untangle cooked spaghetti. I can't remember how many caps popped off and stipes broke during harvest but it was a pain in the ass. Side note they taste good fresh and by the time you're done harvesting they probably will kick in.
Haha spot on description! They even feel like thick noodles when trying to unravel them. Those would be the perfect scissors for these, I'll have to get a pair. I appreciate the suggestion
I can't speak on the fresh taste, but it was tough not to take a nibble. I would've had some if it wasn't so late when I was harvesting haha.

A friend of a friend has some overlay turning yellow(like pee color yellow) that's beginning to reach the surface of the overlay. She only has this one small Tupperware container, am I right to tell her to toss it or are these simply metabolites that she shouldn't worry about?

I wouldn’t worry unless you see actual mold. I get a whole range of colored droplets on the myc sometimes.

Pink stuff can be: Rhodotorula or Neurospora, maybe a couple other things I dont know about. Rhodotorula makes wet colonies like bacteria, Neurospora is a mold.

Or a very oxygen deprived pink oyster. Is it possible you have some cross contamination with gourmets?

Nope no pink oysters have ever been around here. Not yet at least lol
It’s definitely looking like a seed sprout of some kind but it also looks like the myc is consuming it. Either way I’m going to let it ride and see what happens. Maybe get some gnarly mutants or something haha

Second flush looking pretty normal, and the bottom of the tub after I lifted the sub out by the liner.

A 3lb, 6 month old bag of Natalensis on WBR and pearled barley. It'll be interesting to see if it makes it a year.
