Mine taste similar to cubes but with a slightly sweeter* taste and smell. I like.

Potency has been inconsistent for me, and the green snakes are reliably strong. They don't dump spores so I let them go longer, like albino cubes. I haven't tried them before the color change so I can't say if it makes a difference.

good report mojave, ive also noticed the snakes (aka-21) and maybe also c4 (helmets) are poorer spore droppers than the more GT looking natal fruit. but its not consistent, you do get spores from them if you try

Second flush from first MS grow. Finally getting some decent fruits. Might clone the big guy, no clusters anywhere, so might not bother. But a few are sporulating. So Iβll definitely pull a couple swabs.

Thanks for all the help getting here, yβall. Some real beauties in there.

Two firsts: My very first time taking spore swabs with my first real Nat fruits!!

Gonna let βem dry inside the SAB for 24 hrs where they were swabbed. Then run a germination test on a couple to see how they turn out. As long as the tests donβt germ a bunch of total trash, Iβll share the rest!

Thanks again to everyone whoβs shared so freely with me, spores, info, encouragement. I appreciate all yβall!

I would swab em and package them up right away, drying them is unnecessary imo

Oh, really? I thought Iβd read about folks drying them before packaging, so as not to trap too much moisture inside the little envelope.
I know folks who have a LFH or FFU will usually just leave them in the clean flow for a few minutes to dry out. But I thought inside the SAB it would take a bit longer. I realize the longer the exposure, the greater the contam vector. But it seems like rushing them into the package still damp might be more hospitable to bacteria.
Not saying youβre wrong, just curious about it. I thought I remembered reading that somewhere

Yes really, also noticed much faster germination times from swab when I stopped drying them out first.

Do you have a theory about that? I'm having a hard time to conceive that swabs that dried inside a package would germ faster than swabs that dried outside of it.
Not saying it's not true - I just can't wrap my head around why.

i dont think a thing can dry inside a package. i guess your spores are staying hydrated? how long does it take to dry out a spore syringe in a SAB? thats the real question here

Idk, why are fresh swabs always better? More viable spores maybe? I read a study a while back about how spores have higher tendency to germinate when near lots of other viable spores. Id look for it but im at work
