I think it depends on what you’re expecting also. My natalensis experiences were extremely powerful mentally and emotionally at even 1g but if I had been after visuals I would’ve been very disappointed.

And yet I got the opposite experience. I took the same wet dose as the GTs I previously made tea from. The GTs were stronger in every aspect. Emotionally, visually, therapeutically. Maybe my nats were just weak for nats.

B/O, I think by helping out as a trip sitter may have diminished your trip? It sounded like your GF had an incredible healing journey and you were there keeping her safe? Perhaps your 2nd trip with Nats will be more?
Good luck!

This is a strong possibility. As I mentioned in my mini trip report, as hard as it was for her, she said that the emotions that were brought up were incredibly painful, but brought forward as gently and softly as she could imagine. I’m really grateful for her experience, and the experience we shared definitely brought us closer together. I will definitely be looking forward to my next nat trip as 3.5g dried, not 2.3g wet as tea with citric acid. we’ll see where that gets me. Also, I’ll probably be ready for another round before she is. She has some work travel coming up. Would be good timing.

Maybe next time, try it w/out the citric acid? It should be a longer/smoother ride.

Next time I’m probably not gonna have fresh available, so I’ll probably grind and capsule my dose and just take them.

thats exactly my point. when i mention "classic psylocibin experience" i guess many of us think about loss/dissolution of ego paired with strong OEV and of course CEV and in case of higher doses deep and complex visions of transformed natural experience and even communication with otherworldly intelligence.
at doses that a strong cubensis would get you there, lets say around 2.5 grams and above as an average, natalensis might not do so just yet.
but then again i am only speculating and maybe phenotype is all that matters here, as its well known that trusted cubensis varieties are bred since a while, whereas natalensis is still very much uncharted territory in comparison...

yeah, i personally struggle to get mushroom visuals until i hit the 3-3.5g mark with cubes while a lot of my friends will start getting heavy visuals around 2.5g of the same stuff. my gf & i did an eighth of some MS nats a few weeks ago & had a great time, very clear headed & conducive to conversation & thinking but i barely got anything in terms of visuals. excellent headspace but i haven't found them very visual in my limited experience with them either. i've got a clone to test out soon so we'll see how it compares

Can you say a little more about this? Do you not trip eating the dried mushrooms? Or is the tripping not easy for you for some reason?

I’m shifting my microdosing to nats with my next microdose schedule. Looking forward to seeing how that works for me.

Interesting, I wonder if the capsules get the mushrooms further into your digestive tract before release? Maybe they just allow higher dosing with ease?

I suspect it’s because the mushrooms are finely powdered and easily absorbed quickly. The capsules definitely dissolve quickly in the stomach.

I think I can consider myself lucky, because I experienced everything you mentioned in the first paragraph with 2 grams of Natalensis. Only the OEVs are less intense or let's say different compared to cubes, but the smooth come-up compensates for that.
I tend to think it really got a lot to do with the genetics you get. I used to have a culture that was super potent. Reliably, everytime I had a tea of that I had my ten minutes of "damn, this is too much for my poor brain" at some point during the trip.
In the end it's just so difficult to put the psychedelic experience in general into a box. Set and setting alone have such a huge impact on it... and expectations. It seems that people expect a lot from Natalensis, which could lead to disappointment in the end.

So... I'm happy with the quality of these, though they aren't huge and I didn't get a lot. I'm still learning how to achieve a good pin set. These look great to me. I managed to get through it all without contams this run, from spore print to harvest. I have pins for a second flush, and three more tubs in the works--one I spawned yesterday. I decided to wait until after my nats are dried before I try them so that I know how strong they are per dry weight. All is good. Happy Wednesday, everybody!
