I had some nats a couple weeks ago. 3g not sure I found them to be very "stong" in the traditional sense. They hit within 30 min and I had tones on visuals that were very much like an augmentation of reality. Things were shimmering, colours were amazing. At one point I lay on my back and looked at the clouds, I saw a whale made of clouds, it could have been just clouds shaped like a whale, but not perfectly like it was, and whale shaped clouds don't slowly swim across the sky. The non-tripping guy chatting to me said, yeah that cloud looks kinda like a whale, but what did he know.

Direct to fruiting at spawn worked for me. 16 days to my first pins. This is 18 days after spawn. And more popping up every day.

Looking goood is that "Pastywhyte’s Ez dialed monotubs" but with micropore tape? have lower holes near surface too?

Thanks! I'm really excited to try these out. Yes, it's a version of pastywhytes just smaller. I use smaller 27qt tubs and found micropore tape let's me adjust FAE a little better since I use the same amount of holes as his and in the same locations. I use the smaller ones since they fit on my shelf perfectly. The size he used hung over by 6 or 7 inches and I kept bumping my head when grabbing the lower tubs.

As often as this colored droplet thing happens I’m still not sure if it’s contamination or not.

honestly i havent figured these droplets out neither. some tubs do that. but whatever it is (most likely some kind of metabolite?) it won't stop them from fruiting ime

Sent my first Nat grow to FC on 8/19. Looking for advice on what to do with two shoebox tubs that have big old overlay. (One tub does not have any overlay). Have three tubs of Nats going in total.
Should I just hang in there and hope it fruits from the overlay? They’re getting lots of FAE. it just doesn’t seem as tho fruits will grow with all these pillows.
1/4 inch casing layer on the two tubs that have overlay. Did closer to an inch on the one tub that does not have overlay. Could be a coincidence. Not sure.
Super psyched for my grows regardless. TIA
You are all good. They pin from within the overlay, but they can take some time. Last few batches of Nats I ran too 30 days to pin.
Thanks. I don’t mind the thirty days. Im just excited that they can pin through the overlay. That will be something to see

Right! But I get this more and more lately. Idk if it's a higher ambient temp. which I can't fight, or just some stuff the shroom has to fight with.
Made two tubs couple weeks ago, one gave a normal first flush, the second one had a lot of blobs and no pins and was covered in metabolites heavily. To the extent when it was gathering in small dark pools, so I used a paper towel to keep it clean, and the next day it was jsut the same - pooled. I assumed that it's either contams, or the myc is digesting the blobs, as it does with aborts or old fruits, so I've collected the blobs and now it's healing and growing new blobs and hopefully fruits.
It's a clone culture, if it matters, and it looks like the tendention to sweat occurs in larger tare, for example, I didn't notice anything like this in any grows where I used small containers (0,5 - 0,75 litres) in a larger box with water on bottom, both ms and clone.

Swabbed a Natalensis sporeprint to 3 agar plates 4days ago, colonization temperature 23c, can already see overlay forming! Transfering to a couple of new plates today

My first shoebox of nats is colonizing nicely. Getting excited for my first harvest. Looking good. These are 2 pics of the same tub. One is a closeup to show the rhizo growth in the tub. Also included is a reminder of the weak ass agar plate that got this started, and the great jar that agar colonized for this tub.

My natalensis on millet is doing okay. The jars look foggy because I overdid it on the gypsum this batch. I left it out completely on my current batch and it seems gypsum isn't at all necessary for my spawn jars. The myc seems a lot more aggressive now without the gypsum in there. Oh well, live and learn. I'm triple rinsing my millet and soaking it for about 36 hours, hanging it in paint strainers for 20 minutes, and sterilizing for 90 minutes. Happy with the results now. Prior to this, I was taking shortcuts and my grain was drying out and the myc was slow and stalling out before full colonization. Hopefully I can make grain jars as healthy and pretty as yours, BlueandOrange (edit: my mistake, Chris)--that one looks awesome... perfect.
I have plate pins on T0 and T1 plates, and I have a stack of T4 plates growing. My agar work is improving. My daughter gave me a stainless steel straw that she bought at the dollar store. I bent it, and it makes a perfect punch that can be flame sterilized. Happy with that, too.
I plan on using coir/verm per Damion5050... and 66qt Pasty EZ dials.
If I'm doing anything wrong, let me know please!
Looking forward to fruits next month. Can't wait to try them. Honestly, I'm tempted to eat the plate pins, but I'll clone them probably tomorrow.

Thanks! Two were started from spores on 7/11. The three sections plate was started 8/3. I'm still very grateful to Mycelium Juice for the spore print.

Beautiful... I guess it's a result of a lot of good work, but what would you say is the main reason you believe you're getting big healthy fruits like that? Cloning better and better fruits, grow conditions--temp, lighting, humidity? Something else? Whatever you're doing that's what I want to do.

It's honestly very difficult to say, I can't say I do much different to the rest of you other than having a good isolate and giving it what it wants. I go heavy on the field capacity and give them ample fae and light from spawning. No further cloning has occured other than some freaks I want to investigate further.
This is still the original culture that I have used for ages which just gets expanded everytime I need some spawn.
