Don't be discouraged, Consistent. The only thing that will really tell is time. It's just kinda hard to believe and that's why people tend to give you shit. Don't worry about it. I admire your confidence but I'm also hopeful in your ability to admit you were wrong if time shows that. Every good scientist needs both abilities.
And now we wait for the results.

I started three other nat plates at the same time, two from the same print and one from swab labeled as natal super strength which turned out to be 100% natalensis.
From this, it sounds like you did not take the print yourself?

Thanks for the words of encouragement. If it turns out I’m wrong in the off chance I will absolutely admit it. Data is my life, I’ve built a career on observing, recording and analyzing data, I’m an environmental consultant irl, data is what I do and when the facts tell me I’m wrong I accept it. Other than taking clones and trying to get fruits from stones my next step is to contact Alan Rockefeller or someone else capable of sequencing a stone. If someone could tell me how to contact him that would be great as I’m brand new to posting here as of yesterday. And again I’m willing to send samples to anyone else willing to help verify this discovery.

You would be correct, I did not make the original print myself but I have successfully grown nats with it 4 other times. I have around 50 prints from those grows if anyone wants to verify those as well. Hell I can even send a few swab samples from the original print. I’m not making anything up or trying to misrepresent anything, I’m simply following the data and results.

So... these tiny Natalensis happened:

They are soooo small. They first pinned 5 days ago. And now they're already dropping spores
It's a clone, that I already grew in a shoebox (in my house) - and it had a normal size then.
This is my new FC setup:

An old fridge converted into a FC because I only have space for 4 shoeboxes (or Pasty EZD) in my small house - but I have space in an old shed hidden at the back of the garden. (Also it's a fun project).
And what's even funnier, is when I compare these Natal to my 20 days old Semperviva spaghettis (which are in the pasty EZD in the house):

My question is: why are they so small?! I'm guessing it's because they might be too close to the LED light.
Or is it something else? (It's hotter and more humid in the "fridge" than in my house).
On the positive, they're damn cute

Possibly too wet or too dry of a substrate.
I've had Natalensis grow tiny in the first flush and humongous monsters in later flushes.

Nice! Looks like my first culture that I've trashed. But yours at least pinned decently, lol. Purely genetic my man.

I'd bet money they'll blow up big time in the next flushes.

Well that's a thought.
But why shouldn't Natalensis make stones? They do everything else, kind of like the jack of all shrooms - make active overlay in immense profusion sometimes, make spindly tall fruits sometimes, make chonky fruits sometimes, make all kinds of different phenotypes - it's like they have a toolkit of all the mushroom survival tricks. And it's really fun to play with their genetics.
So shine on, ya crazy diamonds. This is the frontier of new.

Well guess that means I’ve got to just grow natalensis fruits either from the clones or the stones themselves for proof. Thanks for the heads up.

He responded wondering if cross contamination with Tampanensis was possible and I replied that it is extremely unlikely given the temporal distance of 4-5 months between the spores of each species being out, and multiple deep cleanings of the lab in the interim.
