sorry for the long post, wasn't on much this weekend but there was a lot i wanted to chime in on lol

I always thought it was just me that took a nap 20 mins after eating shrooms.
i get nappy every time i take mushrooms & all my friends thought i was weird lol. if i'm tripping alone i almost always lay down for a quick nap time, idk what it is but it's kinda nice lol. lends itself to some refreshing hypnagogic meditation

DERRAYLD said: My last nat experience was all anime and my couch. Just chilled in a total blissful daze while evangelion confused me as I went in and out of psychedelic consciousness.
hahahaha i'm dying, i literally did the exact same thing on my last nats trip. evangelion is quite a ride while on psychs lol, definitely lends itself to the trip if you know what you're in for. i've been meaning to throw end of eva on for a peak one of these days
i'll do a quick 15-30 seconds of cold water at the end of a shower as a refresher, but i haven't done it for multiple minutes. i do find it really refreshing though, i'll have to look into longer ones. the breathing techniques are so nice, though. even if it's all psychological (i doubt it), shit works.
also,
i was on acid with my girlfriend the other day & we ended up looking at some of my plates... holy shit nat myc is beautiful. even the multispore plate was gorgeous, but these clone plates were stunning. we could literally see light & colors emanating from the plates & i swear we felt some sort of consciousness or awareness from the myc. shit looked like some fiber optic 2040 anime computer chip bullshit, the way the hyphae strands & layers looked just reminded me so much of some type of neural network. the energy was so pure & beautiful. when we looked at plates that were more disorganized or unhealthy the energy was way more disgusting. i love looking at mycological stuff with visuals but it was the first time i had experience that level of detail with something on agar. super dope.

that #3 plate was giving me exceptional vibrations & i'm really hoping it performs well once i put it to grains. this species is something else

So very true, seeing the essence emanating is an eye opener.
On a more mundane level I think we are wired to respond to displays of intricate order and when myc does that you kind of sense it really has its shit together.
The jumbled up random and/or confused looking growth could indicate contamination load as well as a just a lower level of...something...

yes!! that shit was insane!! we were both saying how crazy it sounds but how real it felt to experience that radiant energy coming from the myc. it was so highly organized that it like clicked in my brain that of course brains & galaxies held this kind of structure, it was the structure of consciousness or whatever form awareness arises from. we kept saying how crazy it sounded out loud but our experience of actually seeing it was telling us otherwise. on acid it made total sense lol
but yes, on a more boring note i think you're right about the patterns lol. we are definitely drawn to pattern & it makes sense that a crazy amount of organization from a clean culture would be very pleasing to us vs something with very disorganized structure. still super neat!

That last one is a big plus for me, because one of my biggest troubles with tripping is the insomnia it causes after the trip wanes and my body and eyes are tired but I just can’t sleep.
Can you read my mind or something? I ate 5g of cubes yesterday and couldn't fall asleep for over an hour after the trip was done, I thought I'd go insane. Now on the same day you come and say that the nats are great for it too. Fukken stellar, I just made a box of nats yesterday with a 1:4 ratio and P9-tek.

Lol I knew I wasn't the only one that had trouble sleeping after tripping, even if the trip had ended hours before me going to bed. I involuntarily tend to mentally revisit the imagery I saw during the trip and the conversations I had, or even 'imagine' some that never happened. It's kind of annoying haha

Maybe I should do a grow log of Nats on hpoo sometime, it's my preferred sub over straw and I have soo bloody much of it.
I'm sure some folks would find it interesting.

A few days after the first flush on that shoebox, I tossed the sub into an 8 inch hole outside with a few handfuls of straw and black cow, covered with dirt and watered. It has been about 5 days, but I see overlay peaking up already. The weather forecast for the next few weeks is warm and rainy, so maybe I’ll get an outdoor second flush of Nats.

When you start warming up your blood vessels can expand 4× their usual size, allowing more blood flow and quicker healing/recovery time. Do you guys feel endorphins as you're freezing your ass off or afterwards? Also, one of my goals today is to streak some plates with nats.
For me the shower is usually excruciating until the last couple minutes. But then afterward my skin feels like it’s buzzing and probably have the best mental state possible. It’s for sure mind altering in an unusual way.
On the nat front, spawning my weird pheno clone today!
Gonna go trip in the mountains tomorrow night too, I really want to eat natalensis but I still haven’t tried semperviva yet.

I don't mind the wakeful state after tripping on shrooms - it seems like tripping at night somehow "gives me extra sleep" in a way - like If I got 2-4 hours sleep it feels like I got 6-8 hours and I'm refreshed in the morning.
However, psilohuasca is a different story. When I do Syrian rue with mushrooms, sleep will not come despite true exhaustion.

I drink beer after mushrooms. Even that doesnt help me sleep, but at least the party continues. And it helps in those times when you feel total exhaustion from the trip. A drink or 2 will bring your energy right back.

Re: the Wim Hof method - it's amazing the longer you do it for. I now only shower on full cold, 39f well water, every day. It's not even a shock getting in anymore. And they did studies showing the dopamine effects last for around 2.5hrs after, much longer than cocaine. And it's free! Actual cold plunges in an ice bath or tub are even better.
And the breathing during a trip is a psychedelic experience in itself. A few times I had to stop because it got a bit TOO intense. It's a must try for sure!
Also, the breathing, cold exposure, and fasting combined (with the right diet) has finally allowed me to keep ALL my chronic Lyme symptoms at bay and not go into relapse. I suffered terribly for 5 years with that disease and am now pretty much free of any symptoms.

After reading all the posts with envy, I streaked 8 plates with nat spores tonight. So excited to get in on this. Based on everything I’ve read, how are these not the most popular variety going?
